That looks like a pretty good grocery plan in DSM. I dont mind grocery anywhere downtown if the plan is good. I'm wondering if this is really the best location though. Its a bit away from a lot of things a store might want IMO, residents for one :) With four blocks to work with there is a lot that c...

I wonder what adding on stores with separate entrances would do long term to the mall. I think you have to be careful about trying to be all things. The only way the larger mall works is getting people actually inside. Yes, the large anchors have entrances but the more one stop shopping you can do, ...

I'm just a little late in realizing there are two beer fests this weekend. Anyone looked at them enough to know the differences? In a broad way, I dont need a complete rundown of brewers, Ive seen the lists and honestly with 50 some at each its hard to go wrong either way.

Keep in mind that its 4 blocks and not just one. There will likely be more attention paid to the Capitol side but there is tremendous opportunity here. It would be great if someone else would buy the property and develop it the right way without having to come hat in hand for anything other than TIF. Oh, thanks. You know, now that I think about it, maybe Dodge should've been built as 7 lanes (3 east, 3 west and a center turn) many years ago from said distance back in the 60's or 70's.  Perhaps then, left turns would be allowed? Same problem then, now and always. The more lanes you want the more...

Bad deal. If the law does really allow it, it should be changed. We can discuss whether government (local) services should be curtailed, but as they are they are already short and this would leave a mark!

Its downtown. Pay to park. Generally, not leased either. Its PW that administers the parking so thats who you'd complain to. More likely that the other parking will also go away rather than yours coming back.

As far as the Nebraska Miami game... well, they can't exactly relocate the game. I was just using that as an example of how concentrated demand will drive price.  This is routine for hotel prices during extremely high demand periods - for example, there are no Hilton branded hotels within 50 miles ...

Redirecting the traffic is not a good idea. The infrastructure is built to handle what is proposed.
