Re: Nebraska Crossing Outlet Mall(Gretna)

Went to this mall again today. Place was a ghost town at 5-6pm on a Friday night. This place is flopping worse then I thought it was going to. There were no more then 2 or 3 customers in any store and a lot of them had none. Most of those cars in the lot belonged to employees. The only store that wa...

Re: Grandmothers Closed

Pulling the "we lost our lease" card seems to be one of the favorite bogus reasons for a restaurant closing. We cant exactly expect them to tell us the truth which was they were loosing money and they got tired of it. I was going to go to Grandmothers again sometime this summer maybe its b...

Re: Nebraska Crossing Outlet Mall(Gretna)

I think if the professor wants to stop with the crude comments and enter a gentlemans bet with me I would be delighted. If in 5 years the Nebraska Crossing Mall is not known to be in trouble then I will change my nic on this forum to whatever the professor wants. If on the other hand the Nebraska Cr...

Re: Row Houses (70th & Cass)

WTH is wrong with these rich people who think this really affects them? This is outside their neighborhood and will only add to the tax base of the area. Don't they realize they live in the center of the city and this is bound to happen?! This will happen whether they like it or not. In a free mark...

Re: Nebraska Crossing Outlet Mall(Gretna)

I was out at the Nebraska Outlet Mall a couple of Sundays ago and it was almost a ghost town. Anyone that thinks this mall is not going to flop is crazy! When the glitter wears off this baby in 5 years its going to look like the Bluffs Mall.

That |expletive| Sucks!  Not that I used the machines, but it sucks that we can't have anything nice downtown because of worthless, piece of |expletive|, scum bags, that have to ruin it.   Sad think it this won't solve anything, they will just find other stuff to destroy. The guys a fool thinking h...

Re: Crossroads - Redevelopment Plan

Surprised by the number of comments online about this project saying it shouldnt even get TIF. Of course, the way most of them couch it, it sounds like they are part of the population that doesn't understand it at all. When their complaint is that the project shouldn't get 'taxpayer' money I figure...

This comment reminds me of the scene on the Titanic when the ship is clearly sinking and the musicians are still standing around playing their instruments.

Re: Nikko Jenkins

I think Chambers is pointing out the blatantly obvious. You better believe the city prosecutor and the city screwed the pooch on this one. How they could take a hot potato case like this and handle it so bad is inexcusable. First they fire a shrink who they had hired because he says Nikko is insane....

Re: Gouging or good business? Hiked-up Omaha hotel rates

Speaking of the Relax Inn killing. There was an article in todays paper about the man who is currently being held in jail for killing the man at the Relax Inn last year. It seems the killer had to go to the hospital last night to get his testicles sewed back on. The killer got into a fight w...

Re: Gouging or good business? Hiked-up Omaha hotel rates

The paper today was talking about Bershire stockholders staying at the Relax Inn on 60th and L today. Nowhere did it mention that people have been robbed at that hotel and that a man was shot and killed there last year. They also did not mention that bed bugs were found at that hotel a couple of yea...

Re: Gouging or good business? Hiked-up Omaha hotel rates hav

My advice to the Berkshire Hathaway folks would be to go ahead and pay the high prices. The hotels around this town have filled up significantly over the past few years with local riff raff. Better to stay in the high end places where its much safer.

Re: Crossroads - Redevelopment Plan

Maybe someone better versed on this can help me here. If the city sales tax is 1 1/2% , to pay off 50 million dollars then the Crossroads project would need to sell 3.33 billion dollars worth of goods and services to pay off the debt. 3 billion dollars worth of sales in one year seems like an astron...

Re: Crossroads - Redevelopment Plan

I thank the Mayor and the City council for putting the breaks on this train wreck. We do not know yet if the new Nebraska Crossings is a winner or not. They built it but in 3 years will the people still come? I wouldn't want to bet on it. Same story with the Crossroads Mall. Were going to give them ...

Old Country Buffet on 144th Center closing for good.

I ate there today and the sign on the counter at the cash register said they were closing March 23, 2014. The sign stated the landlord was terminating their lease. The employees told me they were not informed of any of this until they came to work on Monday March 3rd. This is pretty much the same wa...
