Re: 42nd Bridge construction
Anyone know what was wrong with the previous bridge ? Maybe it was just old and needed to be replaced ? Will be nice when this reopens, I'm sure a pretty big inconvenience for those living and working in the area. Excellent photos thanks. According to the project page : These bridges were construct...

Re: 156th between Dodge and Pacific
Lots of paving action in the last week. The main lanes of SB 156th and WB Pacific are paved, forms are set to start pouring the intersection fill. Saw that last night. This project wasn't supposed to be done until next spring but at this rate, they may have it done before winter. One weird thing I ...

I do a lot of walking. Averaged 13k steps a day last month for a total of just over 400k steps and making 2m steps for the year with half of that done the last three months. Probably in the best shape of my life atm as I've always been very sedentary. I've only been ramping up over the last few year...

What's more annoying for me is seeing all the street widening projects in that list. You'll notice most of those are beyond 2029 and are more of pipe dreams at the moment. I actually was noticing a bit of a hiatus on widening projects for a few years. We normally see one to two (sometimes more) act...

Was out with the dog shortly after 6am today and surprised it wasn't oppressively thick outside. Can't wait until this heat wave is over! I was out just before 6:30 and it was nice. Low didn't drop below 80 again but the dew point was only in the upper 60s unlike the upper 70s and 80s the last few ...

This seems very shortsighted. Diagonal roadways often help get people where they need/want to go much faster than having to take the stair step approach. Omaha has very few diagonal roads. We should be improving those we do have, not ripping them out! This looks like its taking place on a stretch o...

I spent the afternoon here and it turned out amazing - especially the kids area at L&CL.
Having these three parks really makes downtown incredible. The vibe is different now. It always seems to be busy.

Walked through this yesterday and the road is mostly done for the whole stretch. 2 out of 3 traffic signals are up with Howard yet to be done. The road is now open from Dodge to the new north entrance of Kiewit.
Still have retaining wall work along 156th remaining to be done.

While it could certainly change, last I saw, September is forecast to be well above average temperatures. So far today, i...
