Re: Cloisters on the Platte
Nobody bats an eye when a city spends over $120 million in public tax money to build a baseball stadium that's largely used only two weeks out of the year. But when private funds are used to build a Roman Catholic retreat compound, that's crossing the line. It's his money, he can do what he wants. ...

I believe Le Peep is also going into this site. That would be nice. It would be a lot closer for us than 117th and Blondo. Give First Watch a try. Way better than Le Peep. I tried First Watch. I didn’t think it was as good. Guess I never found something that made me want to get it again. I've tried...

I love the Facebook page. It’s a great collection of yesteryear photos, along with historic perspective for the city. They often feature news clips from exactly 50 or 100 years ago. Where else are we going to see these? If you don’t understand the past you will never get anywhere in the future. Wel...

I’d say they’re out of luck for th long terms too. I only have three problems with this and of course it’s an asinine low rise, it shortens the list of this famed GLM head piece and we are losing another street. I think it’s OCD but our downtown street grid is already looking like a Cadillac grill ...

Why did the Omaha Riverfront Revitalization committee have to bring the Gene Leahy Mall in to this? Potentially big legal decision allowing a casino in Carter Lake. Mentions of 2000 slot machines and 50 tables along with a 150 room hotel. Either way Annexation should be a high priority. Why? The amount of land a city controls doesn't correlate to its success or financial prosperity. Yes it does. If Omaha were to let Bennington annex all of west Douglas County outside of Omaha, or let Valley and Waterloo merge and take the trans-Elkh...
