Re: Lincoln Airport (LNK)
I'd still like to know the jaw-dropping destination they teased right before the end. I think they owe it to citizens of Lincoln at this point. I also think that in addition to the inquiry about Red Way an inquiry should be made into the (I think) $50 million spent to add two gates and whatev...

Re: Local Business Names
"Midwest" always amused and confused me. For some reason, Ohio is considered midwest. For me, if you draw an imaginary line from north to south through the middle of the 48 contiguous states that would give you the eastern and western halves of the country. Now, if you take that western h...

This is absolutely pathetic. 30k print copies? I remember when they printed over 300k. Whatever. It's a ghost of what it once was. Peter Kiewit didn't want outside ownership so he bought it. As far as current ownership, Lee Enterprises owns it. Lee is a public company. I assume a large percentage of...

The Holder site basically hasn't been touched since August, and their is a chance it might not be again for a while if ever. That sounds ominous. Do you know if bids came back significantly higher on the terminal project? I didn't mean to make it sound ominous, but if you look at that site, nearly ...

Chicago is a complete crime scene. So far downtown Detroit hasn't experienced such mayhem. And yes, downtown Detroit has a lot of retail, residential & commercial activity. I am down there both daytime & night & have had no problem. Also, all four pro sports teams are downtown.

A cursory look at the OMA web site at 6AM today shows 21 arrivals and 22 departures. Not too long ago the standard departures was 15, so there is growth. Still, the pricing has increased markedly. As some in Nebraska say "It aint like it once was" I'd be curious what the load factor is the...

As was stated the U.S. is not a democracy. It's a democratic republic, or if you'd prefer, a representative republic. Very few issues are decided by a direct vote of the people. We elect representatives who decide on issues. If we don't like that we can change the constitution or vote current repres...

I remember hearing something a ways back about Southwest locking in a contract for fuel prices over a long term and that was a big factor in their ability to lead the market in price. Can't be sure of the validity of that, though. They used to. I don't know if they still do. Also long term is relat...

As a chain five guys is good. On the other hand, and of course I haven't been to Omaha since 2015, but I liked Jam's burger and Louie M's burgers. I'd throw in Stella's as well.
Five guys prices have exploded. Not worth the price anymore. For that money I'll go to one of the local places here.

It was never a proposal from a developer. It was a concept from an architectural firm. I may be in the minority and by now it would be around 50 years old but Marina City would have added so much to the skyline, the population, and the soul of the downtown area. I honestly can't remember how it would have impacted jobbers canyon.

Absent the bribe it's all moot. OMA doesn't offer bribes. Another question absent the bribe would be this: Which airport, OMA or LNK, gives the most bang for the buck? Which would offer the most profit? Given the current environment where would Airline X even consider offering the service?

Nvm, LNK has a respectable list of destination options doing well, plus not having the airport as is would, reduce business and growth of the city. We don't want that, we want Omaha and Lincoln to be strong cities. LNK is surviving mainly by leasing land to warehousing and manufacturing. Passenger ...
