Re: Dodge Park Development
Connecting downtown Omaha is the only way for Council Bluffs to grow. The dead space between downtown Omaha and Broadway has really killed any potential for it to grow. The streetcar and bridge is a surprising but necessary move by both cities. Although I have doubts for how well this neighborhood w...

I'm not in favor of North Omaha revitalization. You heard it straight from the horse's mouth... People living in North Omaha don't need, and especially don't want this kind of help, because I think its clear whatever happens is just a form of gentrification. Especially when there are various alread...

Re: North Omaha Development Project
I think any concerns over development in North Omaha is fully warranted. The only projects approved should have only affordable housing or else the area will become like any other “redevelopment” in town like Blackstone and Benson where the rent for original residents is raised till they are pushed ...

From the Riverfront monthly newsletter released 2/28/22- “When Gene Leahy Mall reopens to the public on July 1, downtown Omaha will see its vision of an activated green space come to life. Creating a highly activated park has been a goal since The RiverFront project broke ground. And the best part,...

Just going back and reviewing the renderings in this thread. I really loved the design of this building from the outset and the more I look at it the more I appreciate some of the details. Omaha doesn't need a light rail it's not large enough to warrant it unless were talking about connecting Bellevue or Boystown. The streetcar meeting up with the railroad by the Durham would be great to connect to a future train to Lincoln and maybe Council Bluffs. The streetcar to Council Bluffs wou...

Besides the Mall I always think the iconic skyline is from the North but I may be biased from living north of town. Here’s the floor plate sizes of the original MoO HQ building, which they’ve occupied since 1940. Not sure you can say they haven’t liked old buildings. To me it would seem advantageous for a new developer to capitalize on the rich history of the site by trying to repurpose the most iconic pieces. h...

I highly doubt most of the people upset that the library might move ever go to the Clark library and, if they were to win their fight, I doubt they would after. I agree with what's said that it's a pretty gross library at this point. That said, the city should have had a plan and design ready to go...

I can confirm that what you saw WAS in fact a plan for Mutual’s present location. That plan has been modified several times. Not to be a pesimist but we've seen a LOT of renderings of towers over the past 10 years and not a single one was built.
I'm hoping that they truly have an anchor already locked in because that's the only way we'll ever get a tower actually built.
