Re: 16th Street Master Plan
"Replace it with something significant"?? There are empty lots on significant land that have wallowed for years if not decades. Tear this down and open 16th Street and you've got two pieces of land that could also sit for a long time. Not to mention that the current owner might have someth...

Before you get all excited, there is a huge difference between a Nordstrom and a Nordstrom Rack, at least in my experience. There are both in Troy, an affluent suburb here in Detroit. The Nordstrom looks like an upscale store. Down the road about 4 miles is a Nordstrom Rack. I can only describe it l...

Re: Crossroads Never Existed?
You can read a little bit about the history of Crossroads in wikipedia but there's more to it. In the mid 1950s the majority of Omaha's retail was downtown. The intersection of 72nd & Dodge was still considered west Omaha, though there were developments farther west. West of 72nd and especially ...

Woke up at my hotel at 6am in Atlanta on Christmas Eve and looked out the window to see my car had been stolen overnight. Cops would not even come out so I called a cab and paid $40 cash to get a ride to the police station to file a report. There was only 1 cop working that day and she was all of 2...

I can't believe that the hours weren't set in the lease. And if they were, and if they stated that the restaurant had to be open during scheduled mall hours, then that's it. with Eppley going from 368k sq ft to 600-700k sq ft, I wonder if they will have moving walkways? The square footage increase really isn't a walk to the gate increase, if that makes sense. Eppley basically rebuilt the terminal in the mid to late 1980s. DSM has been pretty much the same since 1970ish and look it. It's a space issue. You really can't compare the two. Well, I guess you can. I'm not sure I see the problem with DSM finishing their terminal before OMA. Before too long both ...
