I think Omaha will fare perfectly fine without a pro sports team. They suck tax dollars away from other useful programs (like transport that we already don’t spend enough on here). I think the city is developing a character and pride without the pro sports team to drive it.

I’ve been really proud to see Omahans stick up for ourselves against the rest of the state leaders. I think the motivation for demanding a better map have been less partisan, and more focused on keeping Omaha’s representation whole.

I remember the debates on the forum about how this project may be hindered by heartwood preserve. It seems that the sluggishness of Omaha developers has allowed Avenue to arguably make as much (if not more) progress as heartwood.

This is one of the most exciting developments in the city right now IMO. It’s exactly the type of smaller-mid scale infill projects that consider equity that Omaha will need to catch up to other cities around the country.
