Design doesn't require more money to be good, it requires talent and a first rate education... and putting the greater good before money and politics. You stated that design doesn't cost money to be good and then listed two things that cost money. Not to suggest that I think that there are not ways...

Re: Omaha Electric Car Discussion
So, what's the best EV I can buy tomorrow? If money isn't the problem, I'd buy a Rivian. In my pay scale, I'd go for a Hyundai 5 or 6. I feel like the Ford Mach-E and Lightning could also be solid options in between those two ranges. If money were no object for me, I'd go Lucid Air or one of the Au...

Re: Omaha Electric Car Discussion
We subsidize electric cars to encourage people to buy them. If more people buy them, it offsets the cost of R&D, which is more expensive than than using existing technology, and having greater mass production typically lowers the price of replacement parts. Eventually the subsidies are not neces...

Omaha (with Lincoln) is not nearly big enough to draw an Ikea retail store. Best we would see is a planning studio/order point like similarly sized Albuquerque and larger Nashville has. Consider neither OKC/Tulsa have an Ikea either.. and a massive metro like Phoenix has only a single store. The DC...

I can see both sides of the argument on the name change. I think what's more important is the look and feel of the new terminal and the growth that will come with it. As others have said, this is their first impression of Omaha. Yes, you can go crazy calling it Scooters International Airport at Epp...

On top of voting to approve a mystery development, I doubt the people of Gretna are going to vote to bring a substantial amount of development to their town. I'd have to imagine most have moved to Gretna to escape that.

I still think there is already plenty of greenspace in this area with the Gene Leahy Mall and the like that we don't need more. These lots would be more fruitful to be redeveloped as buildings.
At most, limit the garden to one corner of the block.

I'm not sure I understand the point in carving out an international arrivals area when even KCI only has Cabo/Cancun direct flights. We have plenty of space, so that's not a concern, but I don't think these gates will get much use. The gates will most likely be able to be used for both domestic and...

Advertising costs money. If you have $X in your budget and you can buy an ad in Wyoming or in NYC, it is reasonable to buy it in NYC as the market is bigger. As that goes on, the ads in NYC and the focus on this city exclude thought about less populous areas and the people living there get less and...

Someday, in the not so distant future, I hope we realize that these houses look like they are car storage facilities with garage doors that take up 2/3 of the facade, and that builders reconfigure them to look more like people live there.
