Re: Blackstone Business Improvement District
Please walk around this neighborhood and actually look at this building. It has no architectural significance and has been bastardized far past its original purpose. I am a strong proponent of preservation but really fail to see what keeping this building gains. We don't preserve buildings simply be...

Re: Harney Street Bike Way
You'd have to be an avid and very in shape cyclist to even consider using this. Your average joe out for a stroll to get groceries will be huffing and puffing and walking most of the way, thus rendering the lane useless for that portion. Don't get me wrong, I love the idea, I just think the practic...

From today’s W-H- “Cyclists in Omaha could be pedaling down the city’s first protected bike lane by May. NDOT's Moving the Metro came out for 2021 and it lists the Harney Street Bike Way as occurring this year. This pilot project is tenatively scheduled to begin in spring 2021 and be completed in fall 2022. Harney St from Dewey Ave to 10th St will have lane restrictions due to construction of a two-wa...

If you're going to do anything, just find a way to add some sidewalks and extend the trail to Metro. I like that thought a lot... Turning the field club trail into a transportation corridor? It goes through some fairly dense neighborhoods, but not much else. I think it would be better off left as is. If you're going to do anything, just find a way to add some sidewalks and extend the trail to Metro.

Yes, I know the plural of anecdote is not data. However, I am a member of the population of interest and may have some insight into the situation. For what it's worth, I don't doubt the numbers. 1,600 per year isn't a massive loss each year, but over time is clearly adding up. The large majority of ...
