Re: Mercantile (Conagra campus development)
Two points: 1) Tip the Hilton on its side. You've got quite a lot of land to build something else. Retail, housing, office, anything. There was a rendering at the time and it looked pretty good. Modern design for the time with I believe some interesting architectural details to match the convention...

Well, I can also shed some light on how there have been Townhall meetings held at First Data/FISERV in which a certain Nebraskan Senator who keeps getting reelected has stated over and over that Nebraska doesn't need nor is a technology hub, but should be and should focus on agriculture only. If I w...

Re: Mutual Tower on the Library Lot
Not too long after the FNB tower was occupied a VP of some sort said he wished they'd gone taller and a lot more square footage. No person who has ever built a building for a company has ever built it big enough (they've always said this), because they always underestimate what they need and they r...

I laid out the storage units site plan and it does take in to account the 192nd street bridge. There is a triangle shaped lot along the east side of the storage units that is for the bridge. The bridge plans were on the engineers website last summer. But still no word on when construction is suppos...

192nd Street Bridge North of Dodge
So, I remember, but cannot find, that once the 180th Street Bridge was done over the Railroad Tracks that 2-5 years after, the 192nd Street bridge was next. I looked at the 6-year plan on the DC Engineering Site and did not see this project, nor can I find anything on it in Omaha City Site. I do rem...

This rumor seems to be dead. When they left the Civic Center site due to cost (from the CEO's mouth) they decided to stay put at their current location. We know that Fiserv was in talks for the Library site before Lanoha and MoO swooped in. And I have heard that there is a chance that, due to the l...

Hopefully we can see a final rendering sometime soon and some foundation work to go with it The final product and original rendering...

Re: A pedestrian Old Market
I think we should take a look at the Power & Light District in KC and how they handle theirs. Part of it is pedestrian friendly and is able to be shut-off while the rest if open to traffic. However, I do believe their district is a bit larger than ours by a couple of blocks and is a lot more bui...

Re: Mutual Tower on the Library Lot
So, I studied Architecture. If we build a ~650 ft Mutual Tower and then Later a ~330 ft New Mutual Tower in front of it, you basically cover 1/2 of the Tower with a New one. To be anywhere near aesthetically pleasing (since everyone likes to take photos centered downtown), that Ratio should be 1/3. ...

Re: 1416 Dodge - Lanoha (soon to be city) property
Your 3 Bedrooms, would cost you a wee bit more. On the top floor, when I was looking at quick comps, It was roughly $518/sq ft. Say you have a 2500 Sq. Ft. Condo, 3 Bed, 3.5 Bath. That would bring us up to roughly, $1.3 mill (Top Floor). Depending on Amenities, Monthly HOA Fees of anywhere of $500-$...

I have also watched the CIty of Omaha (and City Planners here) learn on the West Dodge Road to Use an Extra Off & On Lane, and then all of a sudden Un-learn this, but then use it again later, but then Un-learn it. This lane exists between: 144th-150th, 150th-156th, SKIPS 156th-168th causing Tra...

I'm probably in the minority again, but I do think the Clark is a much better looking building. The issue isn't with parking... The issue is with getting to the parking and the lack of lighting! Most people think the turn before you get to (Elkhorn Drive) Bella Vita is one way, so barely anyone goes that way. Then when you do park in that direction it is very dark and deserted.

I also think we should do something like this for our Main Library, but we need to keep it downtown.
