Re: Alexander Payne's next movie The Menu (To whom may know Alexander Payne)
Well it turns out that Payne did not end up directing The Menu, would have been a very different movie. The actress Anya Taylor Joy ended up in Emma Stone's role and she was from Grand Island in the movie. Payne does have a new movie coming out. If you look closely at the beginning of the trailer on...

Wow, wouldn't want to be those guys. This project caused me to look up videos on the cranes....

Went to The Flaming Lips last night and just echoing the praise. Impressive venue that had a lot of thoughtful design choices. Can someone please explain mass timber buildings to me? I’m not knocking it, I just don’t understand. I thought this building was going to be mostly made up of wood. Then why is this method so very rarely used? Cross laminated timber or CLT, a main component of this construction type, wasn't invented for lack of a better word until the 80s or 90s, and building codes were slow to allow it. Now that it is being proven out and a more robust supply chain has develo...

Can I just ask a basic question? What is the purpose of building exclusively with wood? Is it stronger than steel and concrete? My intuition tells me that is just not true. Then there is the entire matter of susceptibility to burning to ash in a fire. Mass timber or CLT is graded out to basically t...

Nothing will happen anytime soon (probably 5 years) but I was told they aren’t going to renew leases once they expire and will redevelop in some form. No details on what specifically.
