Re: Park Ave Living
Apparently the developers really want ownership in the area. Was told this area is as high as 90% rental and they want to get it to about 50/50 owner rental over the next decade. Increasing owner-occupancy was one of the goals of the Park Avenue Redevelopment Study done by Destination Midtown 6 or ...

One thing is that it sounds like a number of the single family homes will be torn down for these projects. Haven't seen too many, if any single family homes torn down in the area. Are you talking about apartment conversions? I've seen plenty of those get demoed. Why would developers want to demo an...

Re: Downtown parking update?
The Landmark garage is where my wife and I usually park when we go to Downtown or Old Market. It's a good location, convenient (well, except for one time when the machine tried to eat my credit card), and reasonably-priced. The city needs to push to get more garages downtown to offer similar off-hou...

This looks like another fantastic project for the area. It's hard to believe how quickly and dramatically this neighborhood has changed.
I think the rendering looks good, but agree that it could include more brick. I'm sure the final design won't look like this early concept anyway.

I haven't seen the boxelder bugs for a while... They used to cover the foundation of our house on the south and west sides in the afternoon. Those Asian beetles bite, too. And stink when you crush them. I think they start looking for warm places when it gets cold, hence why you find them crawling o...

I saw a groundhog in an empty lot at 33rd and Mason just the other day. I also see the usual Raccoons and Possums frequently in our neighborhood (and squirrels, of course). That was Fahey. The sad part is that he did that as a way to throw a bone to the police and fire departments that had not received raises in at least a couple years up to that point. The unions wanted the raises, but Fahey wouldn't budge. Ironically enough, the raises would have been SIGNIFICANTLY ...

This mixed media exterior trend is making these vuildongs look schizophrenic. I'm not a fan of all of them, but being a fan of Victorian architecture, I can't argue it doesn't have precedent.
