Re: Mutual Tower on the Library Lot
Very interesting that some of these buildings have been able to generate a substantial income relative to the cost of their observation decks. Also, love the idea of incorporating design ideas with the HD Zoo. Just pure speculation here but I am guessing a large part of the reason Top of the World w...

Re: Mutual Tower on the Library Lot
Probably just pipe dreaming out loud about the whole top floor restaurant thing. Never been to Chick-Fil-A at their current site. Not really sure how Mutual feels about having the general public in their property either. Maybe it's like trying to score a chicken sandwich at Fort Knox. In any case th...

Re: Mutual Tower on the Library Lot
How tall do you all think this new skyscraper should be?… Hopefully 50 stories or at least the tallest in Omaha. It is afterall at the most prestigous address downtown if not the entire city. One thing I would be curious about is how many people think there is the possibility Mutual would build a r...

Re: Mutual Tower on the Library Lot
Just going back and reviewing the renderings in this thread. I really loved the design of this building from the outset and the more I look at it the more I appreciate some of the details. One of the coolest things is the latice work that rounds out the top. If you notice around the top corners ther...

Such a great score for the Old Market. Moxy hotels are really cool and hopefully having one here will finally be a catalyst for some more permanent development in the building directly across the street to the west. It has always been such a great space.

Omaha is soooo Tubular
In the pantheon of Omaha born entertainers you may know about Marlon, Henry, Nick, and Fred...but do you know about Fee? That's right, John a.k.a "Fee" Waybill, best known for being lead singer of the very popular early 80s band The Tubes is an Omaha original as well. If you are of a certa...

As a side note, Millworks would be a natural location for any team that calls itself "Union Omaha" considering the area's early 20th century past. Increased marketing efforts at the airport would be a good thing for travelers coming in, especially when they would be driving right past thei...

Yep, only question now is how long the bridge will be dark. Considering the cost of damage I'm thinking the "forseable future" could be 6 - 12 months or possibly until the completion of Lewis and Clark portion of redevelopment. Just hope they can make things a little more vandalism proof s...

Both moves feel like temporary ones to me. They want the current space for development ASAP and there probably wasn’t a way to get 72nd and Dodge done in time to fit the timeline. Just my gut feeling. Hasty timelines can sometimes lead to bigger mistakes. True, but haven't we all kind of bemoaned s...

One view I think that we have neglected and one that would be impacted pretty dramatically is the view from 90th and Dodge looking East.
