Re: HyVee Closing (36th & L)
Coyote, Spartan Nash just spent a ton of money remodeling their store at 36th & Q a couple of years ago. It was a No Frills prior to the remodel. It's probably in better shape than the HyVee. Used to call on that location when I rep'd for M&M Mars

Re: HyVee Closing (36th & L)
B&R has closed a couple of stores in Lincoln in the last few months, so I'm not sure they are looking to expand into a more competitive grocery market. The rumor always was that when Russ Raybold died the chain was going up for sale. Daughter Jane ran for Lt. Gov. last go round & son Pat may...

If that's true, then they should be making improvements & moving dirt pretty soon. Usually takes about a year from beginning to opening. That area could use another grocery store

Re: HyVee Closing (36th & L)
What is so unusual for HyVee to close a location without building another one to replace it. Example, when they closed the one in Millard(now CVS) and opened at Oak View, only to build the one at Stony Brook to replace that. As to the Stockyards store, I am in there weekly and it is a wreck. When we...

Re: HyVee Growth Plans
HyVee is taking one step back and closing the Stockyards location by the end of June. They cited the age of the building & declining sales. Didn't mention all of the police activity in the parking lot nearly every time I have to do a store call there! I once witnessed a suspect take down with mu...

The more $ spent on food may translate to fewer $ spent in the stores. That wouldn't be good for the retailers. Prices seem kind of high, it will be interesting to see how many mall employees will eat there.

Brad, according to my sources, there will be 6 remodels, including the one on 108th & Maple as well as Bellevue, 108 & Q, 153rd & Weir, 30th & Weber and I'm not sure if 90th & Maple is included or not. I'm guessing that store closures aren't done yet either.
