I would guess any combination would work... as long as 80-90%+ of space is under contract before construction starts.

The more repeated hype stories I'm seeing on the local news telecasts (latest KETV this morning)... the more I'm thinking we're indeed getting Minard'ed.
Daddy's telling his son to make this thing happen or it's back to managing the landscape crews.

Re: 1416 Dodge - Lanoha Highrise
I some how doubt Lanoha has the money to just build this thing outright... they're still going to need a lender... they're still going to have to show that they have committed tenants lined up to that lender. This latest news is nothing more than another attempt by Lanoha to get some publicity out t...

Re: 1416 Dodge - Lanoha Highrise
Well, wow....! Exciting! First off, I'm ecstatic that this is proposed by Lanoha. It is a sharp & slick & sleek design, imo. I'm concerned, though, that it could be "pushing the envelope" just a little too much for Omaha, at this point, though. Also, is it pushing the "massiv...

I spent 3 months commuting each week to Manhattan to work with a company (I've been through every possible airline nightmare scenario, but that's another topic). It's kind of funny you mentioned the commute of your friend, the short distance of 29 miles between New Jersey and Manhattan. Distance and...

As it happens, I'm among about 50 Fiserv employees, in a little known office in Omaha. If you didn't know already, Fiserv is company literally built on acquisitions. They've seen very little organic growth. The team I'm with has been through upwards of a 1/2 dozen acquisitions itself and was in fact...

hah, my house is somewhere in the 4th photo (which covers a lot of Bennington 'proper'). I don't know if it's United or Newark or both, but I've been commuting to New York via these flights, every week for the past 2 months and have seen the return flight cancelled entirely, no less than 4 times. I've been doing a lot of flying lately (going to NYC weekly, for 3 months)... is the Omaha direct flight the |expletive| child of Newark? Gate is in a 'basement' area (up escalator often out)... they cancel it hours before a weather event even comes up (other flights in same corridor un-affected). L...

I really do hope Dillard's considers a move to Westroads... of COURSE, the Oak View situation would see their demise if they stick it out there. You can place all the blame on Oak View if they end up leaving the market entirely. Dillard's is a good store, but they can't draw enough patrons on their ...

People will always frequent their favorite 'local' grocer... so as retail falters elsewhere, you take advantage of new opportunities.

I don't know why repurposed into mixed use office/residential/retail is gloom and doom. Given it's poor location, much as La Vista's south 84th retail strip was... it's needs something that's going the draw more people to it (if they're not already living on site), than just retail.

You're talking as if it's the developers who drive the market. Have you ever considered there might be a reason why, in California, they're building huge numbers of tightly packed apartments? I'm sure the cost of real estate has nothing to do with it. As for Des Moines, it's so negligibly different....
