Re: Avenue One (192nd & Dodge)
I'm confused... aging city? Wouldn't that be the same city out at 192nd and Dodge? Aksarben was just as undeveloped, in need of streets/sewers, as 192nd and Dodge is. I'm sorry, but I think you're really stretching it here. Jordan Creek? Outside of clusters of multi-tenant buildings (which by the wa...

Hello, Aksarben Village?
Actually Legacy has come together better than I thought it would as well. It's even walkable.
Jordan Creek?? Don't see it.

Re: Facebook's Forgotten Omaha
Yeah, don't get me wrong... I love the old photos. It's the whining old people, who moved away and have very little understanding of what Omaha is all about, today... intent on the idea that it is not and will never be, as good as it 'was'. Personally, I think one will have an even more difficult ti...

Is this not the most depressing collection of people on the internet? It's like an army of Grandpaa's all reuniting from retirement communities from around the country to reminisce and share how horrible they think Omaha has become.

Sioux Falls has a Macy's... be happy we have Von Maur. It's a fine store and with retailers trying to jockey to figure out the online market, I don't expect to see another department store like Macy's enter the Omaha market... EVER. Many more closings ahead, nationwide. The brick/mortar retail store...

Not entirely different from the regular season games as of late... a 'sell out', but if you noticed, there were a LOT of empty seats. Re: Oak View Mall - Redevelopment Plan
I'll put it this way... I'd much rather see Dillards make a move to Westroads, than close up shop in Omaha, entirely. It's a good store, a much better store than Younkers is/was in either location. Everyone's whined about wanting a Macys in Omaha, when we should be extolling our fortune in having a ...

Seems somewhat counter intuitive, placing regional headquarters, for the region your corporate headquarters is in, in another city other than your corporate headquarters. And, oh buy the way, we also need two additional 120,000 square foot buildings in KC as well. Beginning of the end in Omaha? Inte...

I'd like to see Dillard's occupy that spot, rather than vacate the market entirely. The real 'What If', is what if there were no recession in the 1890's. Omaha was hit harder than any other midwestern city, losing nearly 1/3rd of it's population (which at the start of the decade was slightly larger even than Kansas City and growing every bit as fast (140,000 vs 132,000... by 1900 i...

Capitol District has already consumed one surface lot. It's hard to compare Haymarket (more like Old Market) to this area surrounding a CenturyLink complex with arose from a rail yard.
