Re: Oak View Mall - Redevelopment Plan
To me no single Omaha development took the retail crisis harder than Oak View mall. At one time it was a respectable attractive Mall, now it’s just a shell of its former self and it’s future is in question. I think Crossroads and Mall Of The Bluffs fared worse. Crossroads just died! It seemed to ha...

Thanks.
The Google search shows a photo of a residence.
Is this a real open-to-the-public walk-in shop or just somebody who repairs cameras out of his/her home?

Re: Westroads Shopping Mall
My wife took a digital camera she dropped in the sand into Rockbook Camera several years ago. The sand had gotten in the moving parts and it wouldn't work right. They told her dropping it into sand was as bad as dropping it into water and it'd cost as much to tear it apart and clean it as it would ...

For the things I've recently bought, I've found that both Nebraska Furniture Mart and Rockbrook Camera to be competitive with the mail/web outlets. I figure that if something goes wrong, I can go there personally and scream at them rather than box up and ship back and such.

My guess is that this one has a better chance than Mimi's (which I was not impressed with) or Strouds (which I never made it to before it imploded) did.

I don't know for sure, but I assumed it was an independent Christian church which may or may not be affiliated with some major branch. Evangelical? Pentecostal? LOL, I'm not of that persuasion and really have no clue what is what.

Clothing I seldom buy on line. Unless it's something like an extremely casual tee, I want to try it on. As was noted, sizes are not very standardized. Groceries! Produce in particular. I want to see what I am buying. For baked goods I want to grab the freshest. I know with the "Click and Pick U...

I learned to avoid Jiffy Lube mainly for the incessant annoying upselling they try to pull! When the news broke about the attack in the middle east, it seemed like most stations bumped their prices, but by Saturday evening most of them backed off. This morning, both the I-80 Gretna-Millard "corridor" and the Fort St. stations were $2.29-ish and the pressure appears to be downward...

On the other hand, go to many large cities and watch the local broadcast and you immediately see that there are actually anchors and reporters who have the chops. It's not only the large cities. Times, customs, and expectations have changed. Back when I first settled here, there were several that would most likely refuse to seat you if you were naive enough to go there in jeans and a tee. I must admit that Giordanos is much better than most chains. However, if they don't open in Omaha, I really won't be disappointed. I would much rather that somebody local, such as the mentioned Davlo (Is it local or a chain? I don't know) would do their version of Chicago cuisine, rather than have y...

It was very "OK", but never really rated the Charles Atlas Seal Of Approval (tm).
Still, I hate to see a well-liked independent close.
It continues to amaze me how people (yes, here, among all other places) still go all gaga when yet another oh-so-formulaic chain invades the area!

It seems to me that the issue this year, at least at this time in this year, is that they are consistently inconsistent, at all levels.
They had a good start last weekend, but could not keep consistently playing at that level.
