In looking at the chart I was amazed that LA was much more densely populated than NYC. I guess maybe Central Park plays a role in that. NYC (city only) is denser than LA (city only), but LA's urban area is denser than NYC because it is hemmed in by the Pacific Ocean and a number of moutain ranges,...

Does anybody feel like the 1950s and 60s are happening all over again for Nebraska football? Great recruiter, terrible coach Bill Jennings leads NU through its worst decade ever. In comes Bob Devaney who takes a team with obvious talent, ads some passion and fire and -- voila! Nebraska plays for (bu...

I don't think it will necessarily take five years for Nebraska to make a come back. Get the right coach with a sensible plan and, with Osborn's help, I see three years as doable for NU to be a contender. Restoring the walk-on program will go a long way. The importance of having an entire state's bes...

Boy, the Sam Keller story gets more and more gut-wrenching. He's a great athlete and he's got a heck of a lot of character. To see him go out with an injury 9 games into the worst Husker season in 40 years is hard to take. I wish him the best of luck and I hope he impresses the pros at the NFL combi...

I hope it's true, but yeah, that rumor's been floating around Huskerpedia for a while now. BTW, this Simi Kuli guy is awesome! Â He's coming to Nebraska for all the right reasons considering the teams he turned down (LSU, USC, Oklahoma). It couldn't possibly be for self-interest (unlike Gray and Gab...

Hire Pelini TODAY. Then figure out how to pay off Callahan. I propose a 2% statewide entertainment tax, but just on Runzas and Valentino's. -Big E  If we can guarantee Pelini as HC, I'd be happy to let Callahan go. But if it means another exhaustive and humbling search after the season, I'm n...

How can Callahan stay, but the rest go? That makes no sense to me. If a new AD comes in he is going to want his own guy. Besides that Callahan has done nothing to prove he's a competent coach...NOTHING. Name me his 3 biggest wins. Tell me who hired Cosgrove. Tell me who is in charge of this debacle...

I don't think Callahan is necessarily a dead man walking. If Pederson and Cosgrove have been kicked to the curb, that should be enough fallout for the time being. If NU goes 0-5 or even 1-4 the rest of the way, then he's probably done. 2-3 or better, plus a bowl victory, I see BC getting another yea...

I had given Callahan the benefit of the doubt for three seasons and five games. 2004? 5-6 is what happens when you throw in a new offense wholesale, using players that only know option football. Fine. 2005? We get a junior college QB who can pass the ball and has got a brain for picking up Callahan'...

Ooh. I didn't hear about that injury. I'm amending my prediction. Â WF (with home crowd advantage) makes it a game for 2 quarters. Then it'll be lights out.Stargazer wrote:FYI... Wake has lost their starting QB for next week (last years QB as well)... who led them to their surprise BCS bowl last year.

Based on observations Saturday: 1) Wake is a non-issue. 2) USC has some SCARY talent, but it's not at QB. This is a winnable game, especially in Lincoln. Wake still worries me some. Â I'm wondering if they just had a flat game against BC. Add in homefield advantage and Nu looking ahead to SC and.....

Wags and Jeff, What makes you skeptical about this season? Â Granted, there are plenty of pitfalls in the schedule: Â @ WF - tough game. USC - overhyped, but talented nonetheless and capable of laying the wood to pretty much anybody -- or not. @ Mizzou -- Columbia is always tough, just ask the '97 ...

NU has a brutal schedule. A 7-5 finish would not surprise me one bit. Â But I think there's something special about this year's team for which Callahan has painstakenly laid a solid foundation. Â But, as much as I'd like NCAA '08's prognosticating to be true, I don't see BCS runner-up in the cards. ...

Hey Jeff, The Harbor Freeway (110) is an absolute dream freeway. It's LA's best in my opinion. With the carpool lanes, you won't have to worry too much what the traffic's doing. Coming from Redondo Beach, you'll be at USC in 30 to 45 minutes, max. It may depend on how early you want to arrive for th...
