In looking at the chart I was amazed that LA was much more densely populated than NYC.  I guess maybe Central Park plays a role in that. NYC (city only) is denser than LA (city only), but LA's urban area is denser than NYC because it is hemmed in by the Pacific Ocean and a number of moutain ranges,...

Does anybody feel like the 1950s and 60s are happening all over again for Nebraska football? Great recruiter, terrible coach Bill Jennings leads NU through its worst decade ever. In comes Bob Devaney who takes a team with obvious talent, ads some passion and fire and -- voila! Nebraska plays for (bu...

Looks great! Having the old train depot for a front door would be fantastic.

One question, though. Isn't the arena in this picture on top of some existing train tracks? And if so, are those tracks no longer in use?

I don't think it will necessarily take five years for Nebraska to make a come back. Get the right coach with a sensible plan and, with Osborn's help, I see three years as doable for NU to be a contender. Restoring the walk-on program will go a long way. The importance of having an entire state's bes...

My god, you have no idea what you are talking about. GI, Kearney and Hastings are probably the worst examples you can pick of DTs that are "drying up" because of the interstate. Kearney sits directly on the interstate and its downtown is doing just fine. G.I.'s DT is about 8 miles north of...

Boy, the Sam Keller story gets more and more gut-wrenching. He's a great athlete and he's got a heck of a lot of character. To see him go out with an injury 9 games into the worst Husker season in 40 years is hard to take. I wish him the best of luck and I hope he impresses the pros at the NFL combi...

I actually find that clip hard to watch because the keystone defense makes me think of the Blackshirts.

A better ending to the game would be if, on the 10th lateral, Terry Tate, office linebacker, came out of nowhere and dropped the ball carrier.

I don't think Callahan is necessarily a dead man walking. If Pederson and Cosgrove have been kicked to the curb, that should be enough fallout for the time being. If NU goes 0-5 or even 1-4 the rest of the way, then he's probably done. 2-3 or better, plus a bowl victory, I see BC getting another yea...

I had given Callahan the benefit of the doubt for three seasons and five games. 2004? 5-6 is what happens when you throw in a new offense wholesale, using players that only know option football. Fine. 2005? We get a junior college QB who can pass the ball and has got a brain for picking up Callahan'...

NU has a brutal schedule. A 7-5 finish would not surprise me one bit.  But I think there's something special about this year's team for which Callahan has painstakenly laid a solid foundation.  But, as much as I'd like NCAA '08's prognosticating to be true, I don't see BCS runner-up in the cards. ...
