Re: Omaha River Walk
Omaha will be fortunate to emulate San Antonio's extraordinarily successful River Walk. San Antonio's River Walk is the #1 tourist attraction in the state of Texas, attracting over 11 million visitors annually, supports more than 31,000 jobs, and has an economic impact of around $3.1 billion per ye...

So, not an actual riverwalk. The GLM would just be turned into "Restaurants on the Pond" and the park would be gone.

ok, much better. But remember, widening 168th includes going through a lake and building a bridge over water. Does Metro buy a lot of new buses each year? I would imagine some years they do not buy any. Also, Metro uses those same roads that cars use. EDIT : Just realized this is the streetcar threa...

We are spending the same amount of money to widen 168th St between Center and Pacific as Metro's entire annual operating budget. The reason we don't have effective transit is we heavily subsidize car travel and spend next to nothing on buses. 11.5 million dollars for the road widening http://mapaco...

Is 100 the magic number? I have no idea, but an A319 (mainline) holds around 120 passengers while the ERJs and CRJs (regional) hold around 50 or 70 passengers.

If you want downtown to be rebuilt and look nicer then tell the City to look for companies willing to locate here and by companies I don't mean retailers, or insurance companies. I mean tech companies or something that Omaha would benefit from. Plus where would we put a 1.2 Billion dollar project o...

I know its early to judge the apartments as they're not finished, but they look kind of awful. Figuring that donuts cost 1 dollar a piece, if the rent is 3000 then they have to sell 100 donuts a day to cover rent. Then they got 2 employees working in there 24 hours a day costing 500 to 800 a day in wages and taxes, so theres another 500 donuts a day they need to sell just for labor. Now we a...
