Re: Area NW of Saddlecreek at Pacific Street
It used to be a United RentAll warehouse, but they moved out about two years ago (or it feels like it). I just reallllllly hope there is some sort of ground floor, street-facing retail and that the parking is in the back.

City Of Omaha Public Facilities Corporation
Does anyone have knowledge about documents like this: https://cityclerk.cityofomaha.org/images/agenda/ID_21_10_26/ORD-42741.pdf? It's a 100 page PDF that outlines a contract with some Public Facilities Corporation. I can't figure out where this sits in the scope of City of Omaha activities. Do we ha...

Appears to be this: A $22 million apartment building to rise at corner of Dodge and 38th Avenue
A 131-unit apartment building — with a coffee shop and some office space — is poised to rise southeast of Dodge Street and 38th Avenue.

Build a decent 12 story HQ at Crossroads, right on Dodge Street. With the old lots downtown, build a grocery with parking on levels 2,3,4 and apartments for families above that.

People wouldn't go to their own funerals if there wasn't enough parking. There is plenty of parking if you can walk more than two blocks. Not building the density with parking integrated is a loss for downtown Elkhorn.

That'll be interesting. I have always used the trails 24/7 anyway, but now I don't have to worry about getting caught. Would be nice if they could at least extend hours at the lakes to midnight. As the trails begin and end at parks, and some others along the way, wouldn't you technically be in a pa...

Metro to extend free ORBT fares to fall
Due to delays on ticket machines at stations, we’re extending free fares on ORBT to fall! These machines will be a part of our future contactless fare system, with smartcards, mobile pay, + online account management. [twitter]

Of course it starts with leadership, but since the elections are over and our current City Council/Mayor don't seem like housing progressives it comes down to accountability and constantly bugging them to listen to the topic. We are meeting with various neighborhood associations to gain their suppor...

Re: OPAS - New Downtown Live Venue ($109 million)
Seems like a missed opportunity to put a basement in here... The bigger missed opportunity is engaging the street with some retail and restaurant options. Walking around this block is like a dead zone.

The Mercantile will stretch east on Harney on a road not yet built. The structure going up will have street level retail, while the second and third buildings will wrap around a 720 car parking garage. There will be a pedestrian plaza on Harney that improves pedestrian access to the under renovation...

Very nice Art Deco building and highly visible location. Adds to the uniqueness of this part of town. The building looks like it’s in very good shape. Agreed I hate it when a certain business tears down unique buildings and homes for parking lots. Well, they are going to tear down a home and put in...

I lived downtown for 2017-2018 before buying a house in Midtown. My number one issue was groceries. But what's missing in downtown? Life. There is a distinct lack of human activity, bike lanes, pedestrian-scaled interaction between human beings and the built cityscape, and cheap eats. The old market...
