Saw in the news Governer Pillen is trying to pass a bill to make Nebraska a winner take all state for voting. Trying to take away the power of our 1 electoral vote from Douglas County. you mean like 48 other states? It's worked perfectly fine for the state until now. And it's been a consolation pri...

I mean, this is nothing new. Vegas has been demolishing and replacing casinos for decades. It's just part of that very particular industry that the city has curated.

After reading the article, I came away with the following opinion. This is an attempt to pull funding (paid for by all Nebraskans) from public schools to private schools in an effort that will no doubt improve the private school experience and worsen the public school experience. Which in turn will ...

If that were true, the City of Omaha would not be an aggressive annexing entity. I think that's an entirely different thing. If Omaha Doesn't annex what it can, it could lose the option to do so later. Probably the absolute best example is St Louis. Where St Louis City is like 250,000 people, is th...

Stothert mentioned permanent two way bike lane on north side of harney today at YP Summit. So it's going to be switched from the south side of the street to the north? Is there a reason behind that? The streetcar goes along the south side on Harney. Ope, that was an oversight on my part.

Allegiant was doing well in Omaha and they were considering it for a future base. Allegiant was set to announce OMA-FLL last winter, Southwest got wind and added it instead at 1x weekly and scared Allegiant away. They are doing the same thing with 1x weekly OMA-AUS. Southwest is sending a message t...

While I feel bad that they are getting evicted, it's just business. The strip owner sees an opportunity to fill numerous empty bays at once and probably generate more revenue than they are making now. sucks that they lose their spot after 58 years, but the owner kind of sounded unhinged on their so...

Not to mention that every single game is televised. Back in the Valley maybe 5-6 per year were on tv and usually ESPN, which really sucks anymore. I think it's important they pack as much density into Lot B as possible. A mix of retail, entertainment, and hospitality. Even if they have to displace most of the parking across the street in Lot D. Lot B can be a cash cow for the city if built right. All the CWS fans will be looking for a place t...
