Re: $1.1 Billion in Infrastructure Investment by 2040
And suburban tax payers won't pay for a rail system in the city? I'm not saying no-one will support it, but I make this point based on sentiments expressed in the discussion group. I'm not meaning to attack suburbanites, I'm wanting to provoke a discussion about two things: 1. Improvements in trans...

Re: $1.1 Billion in Infrastructure Investment by 2040
I think if the people in the suburbs want a freeway, they should pay for it themselves. They can barrow money then finance the payments with tolls. If tax payers in the suburbs don't want their tax money to pay for mass transit in the city, then tax payers in the city shouldn't pay for a freeway in ...

I'm green with envy. How is it that downtown KC has become so vibrant all of a sudden? The last time I drive through (about 7 years ago) the streets were totally empty. What gives?

Re: $1.1 Billion in Infrastructure Investment by 2040
In terms of the high cost of condominiums, I think if the city and/or state wanted to, they could add incentives to homeowners to buy condos to encourage higher density. This could be done in lieu of spending hundreds of millions of dollars on a freeway that will cause more people to sit in traffic ...

I don't know if this is a new thing or not, but I noticed in addition to having all shows priced at $6, Oak View seems to be branching out and showing multiple subtitled Hindi movies. Seems they are trying to find a niche that other theaters aren't capitalizing on. Not sure it'll be enough to keep ...

There may not be funding now, but it the beltway is considered necessary to alleviate congestion, especially when it comes to truck traffic. Omaha is kind of a future mess in the making. The fact that you have I-80 the really only freeway across the city: I say this, because this will hinder DT oma...

Re: Downtown parking update?
Thing is, if you are a 5 day a week, 8-to-5 worker, you pretty much need your spot and have a pretty good idea where it is. You can't spend 20 minutes each day driving around downtown, going from garage to lot to garage, looking for a spot. The CenturyLink Center has enough daytime events (CWS, NCA...

I don't think it has to come to that, but I think there's a point to be made that if you use more electricity then you should be charged accordingly.
