I'm surprised it's taken this long, to be honest. Between the repeated snow removal fails (my favorite remains the "blame the police for 90th & Dodge" a few years back), her failure to get rid of the restaurant tax, etc., I'm surprised this hasn't happened sooner. For perspective, I be...

Considering Giordano's pretty much said they were coming, I don't think you can say "rumor".
You could say it got Minarded.
Maybe they have a deal to place on the ground floor of the new Wall Street er Lanoha Tower.

Re: Official: Giordano's coming to Omaha!
I don’t get it. This is a B-team chain pizza franchise from what people here are saying. Why the fuss? I would understand if Pizzaria UNO or some other famous Chicago joint wanted to expand here, but given the delays and bluff, they can go pound sand. It’s a low carb world we are entering, Omaha ha...

Re: Rosati's Pizza - West Maple
Maple has been tough on restaurants; maybe not as bad as West Center from 168th to 180th, but still, quite a few good places along there have failed.
What's bad about this location is Davlo is only about a mile north. Not sure two Chicago style joints can make it in that neighborhood.

Just stumbled on this. We've hit the Overland Park location of Rosati's Pizza a couple of times, and in Googling it for confirmation that they are still open for a trip, found that an Omaha location is "coming soon". I think it's going into the old Tom-Chee at 144th & Maple in the Lowe...

It shouldn't be a surprise to anyone that attendance has dropped and stagnated from what they drew at Rosenblatt. The main reason Fahey chose the smaller Hilton was cost; the Hilton was originally bid at $60 million for the 400 rooms versus over $90 million for the 528 room Marriott. The redesigns to the Hilton pushed the final cost of the Hilton to $71 million for 450 rooms. Pretty tough to justify spending th...

The only way a new stadium gets built is if a new owner pays for it. (Or at least the vast majority of it.) The only way a professional soccer team works in Omaha is if they partner with an existing stadium for a shared deal, or build it themselves. But, either way, the Royals were never going to agree to play in a 25k facility designed by the NCAA and managed by MECA where they had no say over scheduling, advertising, amenities, concessions, parking, etc. That's not entirely true: While the Royals were still going to need to vaca...

Omaha apparently misses the cut. The bids to be awarded are for the years 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022. The venues, in that order, are believed to be in Detroit, Buffalo, Boston, and Pittsburgh.
