It has fantastic potential. The few times I visited the rooftop I was quite impressed with it. It offers the possibility of a true rooftop restaurant which Omaha sadly lacks.

Re: Hurrdat Sports Bar & Grill (10746 S 204th Ave - Gretna)
I vaguely recall that at the Grandmothers in Ralston the lower level was a bar (you could order a limited menu of food from the kitchen upstairs), and the upstairs was just a restaurant (but they served alcohol which was suppled by the bar downstairs). At a certain hour families with kids under 21 (...

I guess I will give ride share and taxi drivers the benefit of the doubt that they have the same abilities as everyone else with a smart phone to check the Eppley web site for arrival schedules. They wouldn’t know that our flight was full, but they would know when it was scheduled to land.

Thank you for sharing. It’s a very interesting read (for statistic geeks like me, anyway). I note that Omaha is responsible for almost exactly half the GDP of Metro KC, despite metro KC being significantly more than twice the size of Omaha’s metro. I also noted with interest that metro Des Moines is...

It certainly looks far different from the pre 2020 days. It used to be a favorite of mine. The owner and staff were highly knowledgable and helpful. We ordered all of the wine for our wedding reception through them. I keep forgetting that a new place with the carry-over name is open there. I need to...

I saw all of this on social media this morning. My first reaction was: 1. Where is this restaurant? Up on North 72nd Street? His posting included no address or link to a web site or Facebook page that I recall. 2. He said he had no investors. So I guess he wants John Q. Public to become his partner,...

Having just returned from my annual trek to Key West, Florida, I’m always reminded each time I visit of the fact that non auto-centric communities do exist in the U.S. Probably more so than almost any small city in this country, Key West is designed to be bicycle, mass transit and walker friendly. I think it does have to do with being in a floodplain. Since the giant floods that inundated that neighborhood repeatedly in the 1960s it was my understanding that no more housing was allowed within the floodplain. Commercial businesses were not prohibited, however. There has essentially been no new...

I’ve only eaten at Inner Rail 3 or 4 times in the 4 years since it opened. Generally I found a $20 bill might or might not cover your meal, with a couple dollars tossed in the tip jar. You can eat at several of the full service Aksarben Village restaurants for about the same cost, and get waited on ...

We visit that strip of South Omaha a few times each year, typically to walk the stretch of South 24th, window shop then select a spot to have lunch or dinner. We’ve never had a problem with parking within 1 block of 24th Street. I see no need for a parking ramp or garage. Just my 2 pesos.
