Re: Electrical and Building code - online?
Hey, that was my post! Here is the page you want from the city for all of it on the electrical side, permits, etc - https://permits.cityofomaha.org/53-uncategorised/58-electrical-information and from there you should be able to find the rest. From my understanding and recollection from a few years a...

Near the ethanol plant? (I can see that maybe I wasn't clear enough in saying the ethanol plant, just east of Lake Manawa) I'm surprised.

Excavaction Near MidAmerica south of CB
Anyone know what the massive amount of excavation that is happening basically between MidAmerica Energy and I-29 just south of CB is for? I assume either flood mitigation or something related to MidAmerica, but I could not find anything. I drove south on I-29 over the weekend for the first time in m...

Re: 156th between Dodge and Maple
Sometime in the last week or so, 156th has mostly reopened for traffic flow. Not all 4 lanes, but the 156th and Blondo intersection is open all directions. I assume the permanent stoplight installation will close it again temporarily sometime in the near future.

Re: 156th between Dodge and Maple
Well, this area around Blondo from 132nd West has had a lot done to it over the past 10ish years - 132nd and 144th getting widened, Blondo getting widened, 168th getting widened, now 156th. We moved here in 2017 just after the Blondo 144th-153rd widening, but then the 168th widening was summer 2018,...

Re: 156th between Dodge and Maple
I live in this area, and wanted to note that while the pandemic seems to have thrown them behind schedule, last week they got the road bed on the east side of Blondo poured, and I think we are just a month or two from that being opened , which I personally will be very glad of, because living on the...

I have a feeling there is no way to really bring this thread back, but I'd like to try. Like that your comic mentioned blockchain. It would be a great solution, publicly available for review, auditable, unable to double-vote- of course we are talking government here. A private outfit could have this up and running in a couple months with open-source code and means to obfuscate identit...

Re: Vote by Mail / Absentee Voting
Astounds me, in some countries people have been shot right on the street for trying to vote. In America we are afraid of getting sick for trying to vote. Astounds me why we can't just log onto the internet with our computer or phones and vote. That is the real travesty of this all. As a software en...

Definitely state of Nebraska. It's just that UNL is really the only team that has a fanbase statewide. And it casts a very long shadow. I debated Boozer as well. Greg I typed up all the names on my list and went back and forth the most on Tommie Frazier versus Gibson. Not a Nebraska native, but ori...

If the consumption tax truly extinguished the need for property taxes, that would really only affect the cost of administration of existing mortgages, for the better. It will increase the cost of a new home sales by well over 30% your formulate will essentially put it int he 30% bracket for the entire purchase and the tax increase for the builder will add another serious % to the cost to build, thus sell the house. Would it? I mean that seriously, almost no one is buying new houses cash. This jumped out at me from the OWH article- Used cars and homes that have been previously lived in would not be taxed. A decent way to mitigate the effect on lower income households. Now live near 156th and Blondo, and there is a fox running around our neighborhood, plus a family of large racoons that marauds around on trash day.
