From this image, my hopes are not very high on this, bike sharrows have been shown to increase car / bike crashes and bicyclist casualties. Cars completely ignore them. Separated bike paths are the only way to reduce car / bike crashes. https://planninghcd.cityofomaha.org/images/North_Omaha_Trail_Pr...

Re: Electric Scooter Rental
I know you really dislike the scooters Cowboy, but in my mind the problem is not the scooters or even the riders ignoring the impractical rules, it's the lack of infrastructure . Build bike lanes and the scooter riders will use them . It feels unsafe to ride them in the street, because it is unsafe,...

There were several articles about this today. Good move on the Dept of Ag. Frankly, the entire Ag dept as well as the Mint, BIA, BLM, Dept of Interior, Dep of Education, and the SEC should be out of DC and scattered about the nation. Couldn't agree more. My wife and I were together for over 10 years with 1 car for both of us before we had a kiddo and decided to get a second car.
In most of Omaha it's hard to not have a car, but it's more and more possible to have 1 for 2 people.

To be clear, you two are talking about 2 different things.
1. Beercade 2 (same people behind the Benson Beercade) which is on South 13th
2. A new bar / arcade (similar concept) going in to the old market

Why is this project causing so much fuss? I don't get it. 1. It is a roughly $120 million project, paid for with public bonds => property taxes 2. It is a jail, people dislike spending money on facilities for criminals. Even if it's practically necessary 3. The original plans involved demolition of...

Based on some previous listings for that building, their rents are actually pretty affordable. I am guessing a large lot filling apartment building with much higher rents, but ground level retail/office. Yeah, the rents were silly low for the quality. I lived in that apartment building a few years ago. They were wonderful.
They're destroying the built infrastructure that made the area great. If I would've known they would tear down 3 great apartment buildings I would have much rather had the theater be torn down than bought by Susan Buffet.
