Re: FRA Announces New Amtrak Routes
Does Rapid City have/would be getting a station? I could see a Mount Rushmore/Black Hills destination. I was thinking the same thing. Rapid and/or Wall (Badlands National Park) would be cool. Free ice water and 5 cent hot coffee! At least that’s what maybe 1 or 2 billboards tell me…. these signs mu...

They just posted on Facebook that they are closing the Omaha location on Feb 27th…that didn’t last long. And this is why donating to Gofundme’s for restaurants is foolish (I know he refunded - I just mean in general). It doesn’t fix the fundamental issues that are going wrong with the restaurant.

Jeff Beals got a photo of them raising the yellow core tent yesterday. https://twitter.com/GrowOmaha/status/1760658665076351130 We drove by yesterday. Kids thought it was cool seeing the cranes in action. It's been a while since I last saw it in person, so was kind of surprised how tall this core s...

If LNK gets Air France.or Turkish Air THEN the committee will have earned their keep.   There are people on this board far more learned than me when it comes to air transportation, but I would think the strategy needs to be: 1.) If possible, a new to the area airline (JetBlue?) 2.) ...

Re: Nebraska Crossing Village District
On the margins, one area where Gretna may win out is season tickets. I’m betting a lot of season ticket holders would come from Omaha’s western half. And Gretna might make the difference for Lincolnites debating season tickets vs. occasional single game trips. This. If you don't have the TV market,...

18,000 seats for the NHL is table stakes.nativeomahan wrote: ↑Mon Feb 19, 2024 12:44 pm So, let’s agree that a new arena with at least 12-15k seats for hockey would be required. Then the issue boils down to a suitable location.

Alright, so... The complaining about the suburbs is a moot point - Yates/Nebraska Crossing is the only entity that's pushing for this. It's not the city. It's Nebraska Crossing or nothing, from the sound of it. These are the developers (Yates) as well as the others pushing for this who have a vested...

Odds are, any new arena for an NHL team would be heavily subsidized by taxpayers. I'm not a fan of that. Yeah me either...they way I see it, they use CHI and schedule around other events, or its a no go. We don't need another 18,000 seat arena. If I read correctly on the grow Omaha newsletter, it s...

I realize placing this in Gretna helps gain better access to the 350,000 people in the Lincoln area, but I feel like with USA Volleyball and NHL Hockey, Crossroads would be a better location to integrate the facilities into the urban fabric (Ignoring the fact that the CHI Health Center is already t...

As amazing as this would be, I don’t see how Kansas City wouldn’t beat us. Twice the population, better TV market…. I mean, even KC would be a win for us - 2.5 hours for a NHL game? Heck yeah.
