Re: 2023 Weather Thread

Another nice day , should be about 50 today. Pretty good for mid-December in Omaha. Starting to wonder how long this mild stretch is going to last and will we pay for it in January and Feb. It seems to always work that way doesn't it? FWIW, this past Sunday's 14 day forecast showed practically no c...

Re: Apartment Designs

I think it would be cool to reincorporate fire escapes into our designs. I think they look nice. But I think there's several reasons why we don't see them anymore. In winter they'd get covered in ice and I think modern Americans are too fat and clumsy and afraid of heights to navigate them effective...

I remember seeing a picture of West Lanes before Crossroads was built. 72nd street was a dirt road and none of the land to the west was developed. Hard to imagine today.

The NFC is very interesting. A lot of good teams right now. Cowboys, Eagles, 9ers, Lions. You bring up a good point about the best teams. It'll be pretty unfortunate to see a lame NFC south team make the playoffs over perhaps Minnesota, Green Bay, Seattle or LA. How do you think it could be worked o...

That does sound too complicated to me. If you live and work east of 72nd and north of Center, I'd say, roughly, you can do everything you need to without a vehicle. It's not gonna be convenient, not gonna be fashionable, its gonna be annoying, but its doable. The bus system is fairly decent in that ...

2023 NFL Playoffs

Admittedly I didn't know exactly where to post my actual points, but with the playoff picture heating up, I feel they can be embedded within playoff discussion. First, anybody else love Dak Prescott's cadence? He says "Yeah, here we go". It's unique and I love that he says it in such a low...

I do think it's feasible for McCord to start next year and hold Raiola without him bolting. I don't think Raiola expects to start year one in any situation.

Wow, I did a little more digging into this rumor and it looks like multiple outlets have Nebraska as the favorite to land Kyle McCord. The main thing I hate about college football is the production/length of game, and some of the rules. College games sometimes reach 4 hours. They stop play way too often, too many reviews, clock stops automatically on a first down, halftime is like 30 minutes long. Then there's the rules. I hate the...

That really supports the idea that it's the SEC vs the Big10. Eventually the Big10 will add more and more teams while the SEC at some point said something along the lines of "were not expanding, we want to keep our teams quality". Eventually being outnumbered will outweigh "quality&qu...

I've wondered about that area too. I knew someone who had access to one of those houses and it had a basement, so I'd assume they all do. Also plenty of houses in other flood plains with basements, so I doubt it had to do with flooding.

Reading notes from the November meeting, Metro will add 20 new shelters with a target date of next summer. Not sure if these are going to be additional, replacement, or both. But assuming since all the shelters I know of are fairly new, I'd guess they'll be additional, which is great.

I wish they would have figured Purdy out sooner. He's definitely the best QB.
