Re: METRO (Formerly Metro Area Transit - MAT)
Lincoln does have transit. Star Tran, that's the city bus transit system there.

Re: METRO (Formerly Metro Area Transit - MAT)
Why didn't they do this 10-15 years ago?
Re: CWS 2022
Last year, it was Mississippi State who won. This year, it was Ole Miss. So that makes 2 years in a row that a team from Mississippi won the College World Series.

Re: CWS 2022
Congrats to Ole Miss for winning their first College World Series. They've had their fair share of heartache and frustration since 1972. Re: Fast food (including BK) talk thread
On North 48th in Lincoln a few years ago when the Amigo's was still open, I went there one night for dinner. Winchell's was there, too. And they offered me a donut. It was pretty good I'd say.
Re: CWS 2022
Game's over. Ole Miss won 10-3. Boy, Oklahoma ran into a buzzsaw tonight.
Re: CWS 2022
So who's been eliminated so far? Championship series is between Ole Miss and Oklahoma. Game 1 Saturday June 25th, 6pm Game 2 Sunday June 26th , 2pm Game 3 if necessary Monday June 27th 6pm I'll admit this CWS blew right by and I had no chance to see a game or even follow who's in and who's out. Now...

Re: Fast food (including BK) talk thread
Here's a question: Does anyone still get donuts from Winchell's? If anyone remembers them, they were pretty big back in the 70's and 80's. They were the Krispy Kreme and Dunkin' Donuts during that time period.

Memorial Stadium in Lincoln was built in 1923. Rosenblatt was built in 1948. Memorial Stadium is older than Rosenblatt, but it's still standing today.

Boy, people's attitudes certainly have changed in 12 years. When they were demolishing Rosenblatt, practically everybody in Omaha was dead set against it. They complained how the city didn't care about its history and didn't want to preserve old buildings and landmarks. Not that Rosenblatt was a la...

Here's another what if: Rosenblatt Stadium isn't demolished. Instead, it's still there and the College World Series is still played there every year? The answer to your “what if”, which trickles down to most all of your others- if Rosenblatt Stadium wasn’t demolished (and the downtown stadium not b...

Re: Let's play what if
What if 72nd and 50th Streets were overpasses above I-80 instead of underpasses? I don't understand this one. Does it really make a difference? Yeah, probably not. But the way I see it, 72nd is on a higher terrain than I-80. After the 84th Street exit, I-80 goes up a big hill to 72nd. And 50th is t...

Here's another what if: Rosenblatt Stadium isn't demolished. Instead, it's still there and the College World Series is still played there every year? Re: CWS 2022
The College World Series usually starts on a Saturday, but this year, it'll start on a Friday. No, after about 12 years of starting on a Saturday, its going back to a Friday. It was about the time it left Rosenblatt when the start was moved to a Saturday. Friday is much better. Really? I didn't kno...

Re: CWS 2022
This will be Ole Miss' first time to the CWS since 2014. Before then, they hadn't been to the CWS since 1972. At least, they didn't have to wait another 42 years to make it back.
Re: CWS 2022
So we've got Texas A&M, Notre Dame and Oklahoma in the College World Series now.

So that skybridge above 84th is now complete? The Sky Bridge was under construction in 2019 and I believe opened sometime in 2020. The Gold building is now officially part of Methodist? The Gold Building and the Blue Building to the west of the Gold Building were purchased by Children's on June 1st...

Of course, if Jim Flowers had stayed at KETV all these years, that would've affected Bill Randby, too. What would've happened to him? There used to be a Bonanza Steakhouse on 108th and O where a QT is now. I know because I used to live in that area. In fact, my dad took us to it once.
