79 MPH is much too slow. That's approximately how fast many people drive on the interstates. The only advantage would be that you can sleep on the way to your destination. Otherwise, as far as a time factor goes, you might as well just drive...it could even be quicker depending on the amount of stat...

I don't understand why we have to build so much stuff on places where historical buildings are located. Why not buy up the surface lots first? Why do we have to preserve the parking lot before we preserve our architectural history? After reading the last couple of posts I went and more thoroughly ex...

I'd love to see some neighborhoods in Omaha like they have in Minneapolis... beautifully maintained, historic, 1,000-1,500 sq foot bungalows with young, white collar, upper middle class professionals, many with kids. There may be one block in Dundee like this. I got a unique, close up look in on ...

Shatel: http://www.omaha.com/article/20090831/SPORTS/708319752/0/FRONTPAGE • Wouldn’t it be great to have high school football or UNO games downtown in TD Ameritrade Park? Don’t hold your breath. MECA President Roger Dixon said the configurations don’t work for football or soccer, and it would have...

I believe that Omaha could support a Nordstroms, a Macy's, and the like, but I don't believe a mall like crossroads could be turned into a luxury retail center. It's too large to be a luxury mall for a market the size of Omaha's. Crossroads should be turned into a mixed use neighborhood; a place si...

I went out and saw this thing tonight and I....was not very disappointed  I had three issues with it: the lights are too dim, the color combinations of the lights didn't make sense as others have noted, and it was rather simple looking, but other than that, it was about what I expected. Not t...

Its kind of cool that it will be all done by October. It will surely help to draw pedestrian traffic out of the old market. However, this now creates an awkwardly shaped parking lot behind it that would be difficult to develop. Also, there is no way that this is the ugliest corner in town...not even...

I hate reading city debates. I honestly don't mind the Lincoln vs. Omaha debate here. The reason I hate reading city debates are for the people w...
