I was also disappointed to see that Iowa didn't get any of the high-speed rail funding in this round. Â I'm really hoping it will be done, hopefully soon (and not 20 years from now), as my wife and I plan on taking the train to Illinois from Omaha to visit our families. All in all, though, I can und...

Wow, that's some amazing development. Â It looks like they are really trying to have a good mix of uses and styles that contribute to vibrant neighborhoods. It's still a little difficult to picture a law school in a building that clearly looks like an old factory. One of those buildings looks almost...

Well, I'm not in Omaha yet, but my wife and I will be moving out in June as I've accepted a job and we just got an apartment. The main reason we looked at Omaha is because I was offered a job at Kiewit. Â I also had prospects with companies in Chicago and the Chicago suburbs, but once we came out to...

Thanks again for the friendly welcome. Â My wife and I made the (grueling) 8-hour drive out there on Saturday, toured apartments for 5 hours, and then made the 8-hour drive back home. Â I still think the lack of sleep was still worth saving a night at a hotel. We looked at quite a range of places fr...

Thanks for the suggestions guys/gals. Â We are definitely going to check out the Colbert building, but St. Regis does not allow pets. Â For those who wonder, they are managed by Duda Realty (http://www.dudarealty.com/index.cfm) who also manages some other historic buildings in the Midtown area. Â To...

As a cyclist who rides to school nearly every day, I'm was glad to see the case receive so much notoriety. Â It is about time that motorists realize they have to responsibly share the road with bicycles just as cyclists need to remember to behave responsibly themselves. As I'll be moving to Omaha so...

Midtown Apartments
Hey all, I've been a lurker for a couple months so I figured I ought to actually sign up. My wife and I will be moving to Omaha in June when I start working at Kiewit. Â We're in the process of looking for apartments now so I thought I'd post and see if any of you on the forum had suggestions. Â We ...
