3)  Gas prices.  Not the cost of fuel to get to the games for the local or semi local people but the impact on disposable income.   My guess is the economy in general, not specifically fuel prices. The casual attendees are just putting off trips and other non-essential expensive items. I skipped...

That's what I was thinking.  I would have guessed mid 50's I knew he was older than I am (I am mid 50s, but I don't admit it) and the first Carlin album I got was FM and AM, and that was like when I was a senior in HS, IIRC. I kind of assumed he was 30-ish back then. If he was born in 1937, that c...

I think Omaha is a great city, and I anxiously await each time I dine at the Applebee's steakhouse in Council Bluffs 3 or 4 times a year on my way up to Sioux City. This pretty much robs you of any credibility as far as opinion of Omaha. 3 or 4 times a year you come through here and..... go to the ...

I've always hated the phrase "loose beef sandwiches."  Even though they're good, it just sounds gross. Hey, that's what my mom always called them. She even thought the term "sloppy joe" was unsophisticated. :) (And yes, I know the difference between a "loose beef" and...

S. 72nd Street at one time was known as "The Strip" and was very popular for dining.  That was 30 years ago.  Sadly it has fallen on decay and a general junky feeling, which I think can be tied directly to the 1975 tornado. Am I forgetting something? I've now been here over 30 years, an...
