Kwik shop with Baker's fuel points. Hy Vee if I have some to use there or based on convenience. Kum and Go if not fuel points from others places. Probably go to Kum and Go the most.

Has anybody tried Freezing at Ak Sar Ben Village? Gary Sharp was talking about it on 1620 this morning. Sounds like they have consistent lines out the door. Rolled ice cream.

When I was driving back from Lincoln, it looked like a major building going up on Vala's property. As best as I could tell if it's part of Vala's it would be on the NW end of the property.

Went to the new Swine Dining on 120th and Dodge a couple weeks ago. Food was good, except they are one of those places that dice up their meat super fine. I know that's a style that some places use, but I would rather have the larger slices of meat. Really glad you posted this. For some reason I do...

Dachon Burke commits to Nebraska over St. John's, Pitt, and others. He is a transfers from Robert Morris, where he was their leading scorer. Sits out next year with 2 to play. Appears to be a real good get considering we are still down an assistant (our lead recruiter), and Miles tenuous situation. ...

An interesting article on the collapse of this brand/malls in general: https://www.strongtowns.org/journal/2018/4/23/bon-ton-gone Kind of an odd article. Seems a little bitter about how shopping shifted out of the downtowns, and then makes a plea for downtown reinvestment. Also ignored the on-line ...

Topeka & Joplin in the 1950's? That's shocking. My "other parents" lived in Topeka growing up, and when they first got transferred to Topeka around 1987 from South FL, my stepmother literally bawled when she saw their crummy, tacky White Lakes Mall. West Ridge Mall was soon built afte...

The guys that own that land seem really odd. They've tried to really screw that place up in my opinion. I don't have a lot of confidence in them. The weird thing is, I could see NU making the tournament next year and Miles still being let go. This would be based on what he has coming back, what he has coming in and such. I think the one year extension is going to make it very difficult to hire a top quality assistant to replace Hunter.

Uffda: If Sioux Falls were a 100% classic "Midwest City" in every little way, you wouldn't have the housing styles you do there. It's influenced by the North a bit, and the "Dakotas thing." (I can go to any American city, and look at their new housing styles being built, and 100...

I just watched a live feed of Bill Moos speaking and answering questions at the Omaha Press Club. He was asked about baseball and Darin Erstad. I don't think Erstad is going anywhere. Moos gave a lot more of a pro Erstad answer than the dreaded vote of confidence.

I'm wondering if they moved from New York, NY to Cincinatti, OH at least partly because the downward steps the store took in prestige & class & perception as the years unfolded with a reshuffling of business & ownership. Cincinatti is not only cheaper, but the HQ makes more sense to me ...

Sioux Falls has a Macy's? When I mentioned a Macy's being in a smaller, less sophisticated city than Omaha, I was thinking of another town. Sioux Falls is practically "Cheyenne East." Even more so: Omaha & Des Moines shouldn't waste a day feeling like they are "not good enough&qu...

It's a long shot but it would be awesome if they could get Macy's into that space. It thrives (in relative terms) more ...

First I do trust Bill Moos. That being said, a one year deal seemed to me to be the worst option. If he wanted to make a change make a change. I think we are deep enough into the Miles era to make that call. If he was going to do an extension I would have gone 2 or 3 years. It just leaves so much un...

I don't like the fact that TD sits empty for probably 330 days a year, but an independent baseball team (which is what would have landed there since the AAA Storm Chasers are still in town) wouldn't have drawn people from outside the Omaha area. I know the guys from Slowdown went on record saying they were disappointed the minor league stadium fell through. TD gives that area a big 2 week spike but doesn't draw much else.
