Re: Harney Street Bike Way
Take a cue from Seattle No thanks. I’m not against a bike lane, but the argument that taking it away on Harney is forcing a car-centric community is a slap in the face to a major argument FOR a streetcar. Have the bike line on a different street if that’s an issue - it gives you ORBT on Dodge/Dougl...

Re: Wolfson Cars Lot on Saddle Creek & Hamilton
Traffic on Hamilton needs to be improved. Evening rush hour it backs up from the five way stop out on Northwest Radial. It is very difficult to leave QT. Instead let's accept that during the 2 hours of busiest traffic in the city there will be a bit of a delay and not wastefully overbuild the road ...

I fly to SF often. I have booked the direct multiple times on United only to have it changed to connecting in Denver as the flight gets closer. So I have a direct SF to Omaha on Sept 6. It still shows direct! Hopefully I did not just jinx it. I've been routing through LAX to avoid that. Regarding t...

Just incredible to say that if the intersections aren't changed they won't change the street to 2 way all day. They presented data that the road is far more deadly and dangerous with this configuration than the average 2 lane street in Omaha. Then based on a study that assumes no reduction in cars d...

Eppley's been around in some form since the 1920s.
When they built I29 in the 60s I would guess that the relative cost of a bridge over the river outweighed the convenience of a direct connection.

As someone who occasionally runs and bikes on this part of the Keystone Trail, this was a very accurate summary.

- No shade
- Mostly bikers and walkers.
- Dog owners who don't pay attention to their dogs
- Aggressive geese.

It doesn't seem like the city and state are on the same page. It seemed like the 480 removal (which would be fantastic) would start with removing entrance/exit ramps and then escalate to full scale removal. However this off-ramp, highlighted in the plan to redevelop 3 city blocks is currently under ...

Rents and home prices are already skyrocketing in no small part due to lack of supply. We flat out need more units, ideally we get a mix of low income housing and market rate but higher density market rate is our best realistic chance to limit the surge in prices.

The problem with TIF is twofold (this coming from someone who thinks on the whole TIF is beneficial) 1. City & State officials have never honestly communicated what TIF is let alone it's benefits and downsides. Which leads to a large amount of misunderstanding and distrust. 2. There is no automa...

Stothert mentioned that the board of the new authority would have representation from Metro because it is apparently legally required. I think it's a great compromise. I think the appeal of the streetcar can't be understood from an engineering perspective. It's purpose is not to be efficient, rather it's to provide variety, novelty, and choice in transportation (in my opinion). I do however agree with the gentleman's questions with respect to the motive of the st...

A house doesn't have any intrinsic value. It's only worth what people are willing to pay for it. Prices are high now with low interest rates and a supply crunch. The Assessor's office will never be a good estimate of the going price for an individual property, the best the Assessor can hope for is a...

The stretches of 24th St closest to Downtown are wide 3 or 4 lane roads, it would be great to see these converted to dedicated bus lanes with physical barriers or shrink the travel lanes and just add a free* protected bike lane alongside. *I know we're hamstrung by NDOR requiring minimum 11ft wide l...
