Re: Aloft Hotel - 180th and Harney

The one time I stayed at an Aloft hotel (Miami Doral) the room was BY FAR the largest room I have ever stayed in out of perhaps 500 hotel nights. Had to be over 1000 sq’. We paid for a standard room, and they liked my hisband’s shoes so much that they gave us the big upgrade for free. That is defin...

It's so funny that people think that some working class / low middle class family that can move out to a new home in some safe starter neighborhood and send their kids to good schools is motivated by racism. Another Super Block. Couldn't the building on one block and the parking lot on the other connected by some elevated walkways serve the same purpose. Is ConAgra campus the first Super Block in Omaha where the city might reclaim a street?

Interesting about Hines combining their plan with the Riverfront redevelopment plan. Shrinking the lake and extending Farnam plus the Harney Street Plaza would be very interesting. I wonder though about the bridge over the lake or shrinking the lake if they might need to shrink the fountain as well....

The Hy-Vee store at 180th and Pacific has converted about 10% to 15% of their floor space into a clothing store. I forget the Brand Name of the Clothing Store but it is a little strange to see an entire section of clothing racks in a Hy-Vee.

It is not the greatest design but filling up "The Yard" with another 5 story building is a good step forward.
