Re: Crossroads - Redevelopment Plan
It would be great if someone else would buy the property and develop it the right way without having to come hat in hand for anything other than TIF. It's far, far too big of a property for anyone to develop without some incentives like tif. I'd rather give TIF than have a vacant mall, but that's j...

I think if the professor wants to stop with the crude comments and enter a gentlemans bet with me I would be delighted. If in 5 years the Nebraska Crossing Mall is not known to be in trouble then I will change my nic on this forum to whatever the professor wants. If on the other hand the Nebraska C...

I was out at the Nebraska Outlet Mall a couple of Sundays ago and it was almost a ghost town. Anyone that thinks this mall is not going to flop is crazy! When the glitter wears off this baby in 5 years its going to look like the Bluffs Mall. Were you there when they were open? :;): I have not dr...

I think the apartments are going to be ugly if they look anything like the renderings, but I don't own the land and I'd rather die than declare that someone can't do what they want with their property (minus torts of course.) But what's interesting to me about this is that the synagogue is a much mo...

WTH is wrong with these rich people who think this really affects them? This is outside their neighborhood and will only add to the tax base of the area. Actually this is a great thing. In time the whole project will be built and the taxpayers won't be on the hook. I would bet that within five years of the completion of the first phase things will be moving toward the complete project or something even bigger.MadMartin8 wrote:Cue laugh track. Typical Omaha.

That really happens? I didn't know people were so militant against vegans. How feasible would it be for people to raise money to buy the building and move it? I personally think the building is an affront to good taste, but many people seem to like it, so would it even be realistic to do that? I know houses can be moved, but I'm not sure about an old brick building.

This isn't that big of a loss from an architectural standpoint, but I think there needs to be a review board put in place before this sort of thing gets out of hand.
