Surprised they're not bulldozing it for condos, they do that in every other corner of the city. It's on the Asarco location. They capped the soil & you can't breach the cap. It's full of lead. As for a restaurant succeeding it would have to be something amazing. Hard Rock maybe but I doubt it.

I still don't understand why there hasn't been much development in the immediate vicinity of the Iowa Events Center. Omaha has North Downtown, KC has KCLive, Lincoln has the Haymarket but Des Moines doesn't really have an Arena district.
