Re: Resurfacing Streets

Resurfacing is the perfect opportunity to add bike lanes and constrict lane widths. There's a bike lane on 40th that starts at Cuming and goes north. Connect it to Dodge and add a South bound bike lane. Should reduce the rediculous number of people flying by at 45mph. Too bad Stothert eliminated the...

Now Mayor Jean thinks we need a new library downtown and she will do away with the Restaurant Tax sometime around never. Mello wont kill it either. The new library is to me, a curious investment. One that should be voted on by the taxpayers. I'm okay if they don't build a new library but the...

In high school I'd go to Royals games at Rosenblatt and TD Ameritrade would have had the same dead, no crowd feeling. I've never been to a Storm Chasers game but I don't doubt that Warner Park is a much better fit for them. I think this is just a case of creditors getting overzealous and backing a p...

I think the national politicians coming in must target a different demographic than most of us or they're just ill advised. No national political endorsement is going to sway me toward an Omaha mayoral candidate but they could definitely sway me against one.

As Dusty mentioned this area is already seeing a spike in investment.

Lets bump Metro's budget by 25%-30% (roughly the annual operating expenses of the streetcar proposal) and connect North Omaha and South Omaha to West Omaha's retail jobs and offices.

Definitely an interesting series of graphics. Like everyone is saying it does also illustrate how hard it is to compare cities with different annexation policies. It makes me wonder a little what Omaha would be like if Sarpy County had not been split out of Douglas County.

The idea isn't to recoup the money in ridership fees, just like we don't recoup the money for city streets in tolls.
