Re: Misinformation About Nebraska
The singular motivation of YouTubers is to get clicks. Not details, not nuance, clicks. Sometimes their content is great, but be skeptical over most creators. If you don’t even know the capital of the state you’re talking about, this clearly isn’t something you actually care about. It screams conten...

To me, this is all smoke and mirrors, which is basically what he did with the Crossroads project before he bailed. If this follows what I seem to see as a Rod Yates playbook, he's going to promise the moon, mainly to drum up excitement and buzz to hopefully get someone, anyone, to give him as much ...

That’s quite the rendering there. Not exactly sure what I’m looking at, especially the cluster of the buildings in the middle, but some interesting concepts. Good to see that the West Farm Grain silos have made an appearance at a new site :P Also interesting to think Gretna may end up with the 3rd ...

Re: Avenue One (192nd & Dodge)
Apparently, this is one of two Good Life Districts approved by the State so far. I thought that 20% of revenue needs to come from out of state customers since it's located in a large county? This does not seem like that kind of development, but I also haven't seen what their plans are on the retail...

Looks like Block A and C are not listed in the renderings, but already looks better! Block E (center square) is about what I expected. 1-1.5 story of retail with park-oriented square in the middle. I made the reference to Celebration Pointe in Gainesville, FL previously. It reminds me a lot of this...

This just got more exciting for sure. Taking out the huge office components was a smart choice. Also good to see an SLC developer enter the market given how good urban developments have been going over there. Ok, having read it more in-depth, it's nice to see a reduction in parking expected in the p...

FRA Announces New Amtrak Routes

Des Moines would also get service for the first time in decades, with a route running from Minneapoli...

I'm gonna say something perhaps a bit surprising; if the area getting an NHL team is dependent on a new arena, I don't want it anywhere in the urban core. I think downtown is already super saturated with event spaces, especially with the addition of the new Union Omaha stadium. Yeah it would be grea...

New White Sox Stadium in The 78 - Chicago
This proposal is pretty big; moving the White Sox from 35th street to The 78, a big master planned development in the South Loop along the river, and then redeveloping 35th into a soccer stadium and housing. https://chicago.suntimes.com/white-sox/2024/2/7/24065603/new-white-sox-ballpark-south-loop-r...

Omaha has Google data centers but I’d never really say that Google has a substantial employment in the city. Like yay, we host a bunch of servers that employ 20 people. Data centers felt cool for a while until we learned they basically just meant a big warehouse in the boonies

I will go ahead and say it. OKC has already had too much destruction with the bombing in the 90's.
