This should be a very nice addition to the Old Market area.  A good sized project.

I really like the look of this building. It's also going to fill out that corner very nicely.

Crazy! Wonder if it was the wind yesterday? I saw boards hanging off the building, but after looking at ShawJ's photos again, I thought they were already there.

Does this mean that they are going to put Jones13 on hold while investigators determine what safety violations to give?

I would imagine OSHA would take its time on an investigation, especially with one in the hospital with critical injuries.

What is the deal with workers getting hurt at downtown construction projects? First Hyatt Place and now this. Are they cutting corners and then it leads to workers getting injured?

A lot of contractors, especially the small ones, don't put much, if any, engineering behind their temporary structures. They're often built just based on past experience, and don't always account for special conditions (wind, loading beyond typical practice, etc). OHSA provides some prescriptive requirements for some of the most standardized temporary works (some types of scaffolidng, stair towers, trench shoring, etc), but a lot of it should still have an engineer's involvement.

Actually working or doing stuff at the site? Can't imagine that the OSHA people already signed off on the accident already.

Real work is for sure being done. Lots of wood being hoisted up and it looks like they are adding a floor.

The framing looks about 99% done. I think what it looks like now is the final size.

Yeah, I didn't get a good look to see how many. I just saw a couple being hoisted up on my way past this morning.
