Am I looking at that latest plan right? Do I see HDR putting their headquarters right there?!?! If so, I could just hug HDR! Not only am I happy that they will be downtown, I am happy to see they will be part of all the fun of the new adjacent Capitol District!!

Or, is HDR's name stamped on that Capitol District map because of their original plan to be downtown, the one they backed out of? I'm confused. I looked at the HDR thread, and I don't see any talk or announcement of being downtown again, adjacent to that Capitol District. Thanks... :)
I believe that is the is the original plan. Nobody knows where HDR is going to end up. Just like nobody knew who shot J.R. Ewing in 1980.
Maybe one day we will hear the shower running and walk into the bathroom and see George Little (as Bobby Ewing) telling us that the OPA debacle never happened and the last few months were just a dream...

Wouldn't that be hilarious? Why shouldn't CEOs have a sense of humor? Maybe HDR and the Omaha Chamber can start working on that PSA.

known as “Lot E” and property between 8th and 10th Street, north of Capitol

Parking, in the amount of approximately $15,167.00 and $2,880.00 per year

So I get the Lot E portion if they were still planning on building structured parking beneath 480. Where I am scratching my head is the area mentioned between 8th and 10th N of Capitol. Are they leasing spaces in the existing garage or does it sound like they will be putting more parking where that upper entrance is?
68 stall surface lot to be put in under 480.

Looking at that picture...I can't believe they are tearing the old Rick's building down. It looks nice on the riverfront. Now it will probably be turned into another parking lot.

City marks two Capitol District sites for new downtown parking lots
The two sites could provide more than 120 parking stalls for the project, which is under construction at 10th Street and Capitol Avenue.
The lots are under the Interstate on either side of 10th Street, south of the Hilton and the CenturyLink Center.

I guess we should use that land under that monstrosity called the 480 for something.

Only 120?

Those 120 are in the 2 surface lots under 480. The majority of the parking will be in a still to be constructed garage along the north side of the complex (just to the south of 480).

The parking lot to the east makes me have hope that Shamrock still has intentions of eventually exercising their option on the plot to the east of 10th st between Dodge and Douglas. Otherwise, that parking is a bit disconnected from the rest of their project.

I wouldn't mind if they made the 'supplemental site' greenspace for now, like what they did with Gavilon's lot.

It would be nice if they spruce it up a little instead of the dirt and dead grass that is there now.

I'm not in too much of a hurry to see anything done on that corner. As long as they make it look nice for a while. Heck, they could put a big water feature on there or some landscaping and statuary and have it be a small park.

While we're pointing out stuff from the webcam, the hotel has construction light in its first floor.

This thing is skyrocketing vertical.... am I just imagining things, or has this gone up quickly? Maybe my perspective is impaired due to the positive view I have of this development.

Compared to the Wall street condo tower and HDR's new headquarters, it does seem pretty fast. :;):

Developments this big, especially with that many different uses in a market like Omaha take a long time to get all the details hammered out. Even when things go "fast" there is probably a year or more of work behind the scenes that we didn't see.
