Great pictures as always, that one from ground level really shows how massive these buildings are again.

I can't wait till they start on the other buildings.

Wasn't sure if the clouds were going to move out in time to do an update today or now. It was Beautiful this morning then the clouds hung tight all day but broke after dinner.

So... Will the apartment building in the Capitol District be topped out before or after Labor Day?

Judging by the rate of progress I've seen the last six weeks since the CWS, I'd say right at, or maybe a week after Labor Day for the apt building. The hotel, perhaps a month or so after that...

On purpose, I restrict myself from a daily check of the construction cam on this project.. To about about once every 4 days.. And wow. Just checked it today and it's looking pretty darn impressive and, perhaps, ahead of schedule :;): ...

Its hard to tell from the construction cam that any glass was installed on the east side of the hotel. What part of the 1st and 2nd floor was it installed on?

Just 6 small pieces... (Straight down from the crane on the second floor)

I asked coyote the same thing. I assumed may be it was part of the Triathlon, but apparently it was the "Omaha Beer and Bacon Festival". So weird because unlike past years, I heard Absolutely NOTHING about it this year. Usually its well promoted...

10 floors of apartments on top of the first floor of retail, apartment amenities, etc. So 11 floors total, which means there's one more floor to go before being topped out.

Crews began laying the decking for what should be the top floor of the apartment building today. I expect to see the walls going up this week.

So its 11 stories? Ground Floor Retail and 10 floors of apartments?

Whoever took those photographs did a amazing job at it! I'm pretty impressed. I'm also amazed how fast the construction is going on the project itself. I'm assuming they are probably ahead of schedule even! It will surely add to the Omaha Skyline and hopefully in the future we can have another Skyscraper maybe like the First national tower or bigger. Either way I'm glad to see Downtown abuzz with construction now we just need people to fill these vacant office buildings and attract top talent to the Metro area including Business's and there HQ's. Though I am concerned about the apartments being built left and right. I'm worried that they are building too many. Anyways keep those beautiful pictures coming!

Beams are being installed on the 11th floor of the apt building and the 2nd floor has glass almost completely installed on the east side of the hotel building.

I thought the apartment building was 10 stories.. Maybe it's turned out to be 11?...

The vertical studs for the eleventh floor are noticeably taller than the other floors. Could be a sign it's the final floor.

I am pretty sure this is the last floor. The taller columns will support a parapet wall that will hide some of the mechanicals on the roof. The rendering shows this pretty well. Most of the information I have read says 10 floors of apartments and one floor of retail, although the Shamrock Development blog from June 2016 refers to the building being 12 floors. I am guessing that refers to the number of floors measured from the northwest corner of the building where the street is goes downhill. I believe there is the tenanant lobby on that corner at the lowest level of the building... hence 12 floors.

I meant to say this much sooner, but the metal framing surprised me. Up there the framing looks like the regular non-structural metal studs. I'm just surprised it is possible to build such a large building with that flimsy looking framing.

Right.. I think it was mentioned in an earlier post, I believe the apartment building will end up 12 stories.. I'm thinking the Hotel will end up 14. I've always believed it would end up being 14 :thumb: ...
