Tonight I talked with the Manager, Edgar (from Guatamala, who is in that pic) and he said since they had that extra store space they decided to include the Comal for the taco shells, one of the first in the country to do so. Eventually they will also make the burrito tortillas on this.daveoma wrote:Tortilleria inside the restaurant? Awesome!

Re: Saddle Creek (Dodge to Hamilton)
Add another restaurant to North Saddle Creek.
Shuko Teriyaki will be coming south of Mama's Pizza.

Re: Saddle Creek (Dodge to Hamilton)
Looking like the nursery north of Walgreen's could be going away for a retail development.

I prefer the nursery over a tiny strip mall thing especially if that's all it's going to be (seen in the PDF)

Oh no. I used to go to Indian Creek when we lived in that area. It's a great nursery and convenient if you live midtown.

This is happening soon. This location will get a drive thru. It sounds like they are running it behind the entire building.iamjacobm wrote:I have heard they wanted to put a drive thru in this location.Coyote wrote:Panera renovations.iamjacobm wrote:There was a dumpster in front of the bay next to Panera the other day. I think this may be ongoing. Chaos in that parking lot currently.iamjacobm wrote:This is happening soon. This location will get a drive thru. A better use of an old gas/service station _ Mastry's Brewing St Pete Beach

Rezoning for the land between Davenport and Wakeley is working its way through the process. Two buildings with 5 total bays is what is being proposed.
Re: Saddle Creek (Dodge to Hamilton)
New plans. 3 retail bays and 5 townhomes. The renderings at the bottom show Chipotle as one tenant.

Re: Saddle Creek (Dodge to Hamilton)
I am glad they decided to include some new townhomes instead of using that space for more parking. I like that they are incorporating a more craftsman style home rather than modern for this neighborhood.iamjacobm wrote: ↑Fri Jan 04, 2019 3:50 pmNew plans. 3 retail bays and 5 townhomes. Re: Saddle Creek (Dodge to Hamilton)
Love it. I'm so glad "urban living" is in. They can now eye any underdeveloped lot in the inner city that falls short of something substantial, and easily convert it into an urban condo/apartment block with retail bays -- and it will almost certainly be successful.
I can get pushed out because I'm "too much" for some. Then, an observer of me comes suddenly swooping in to "fill my shoes." People are always more accepting of the new one, because their feathers aren't truly ruffled by them. (Yawn) I can count on it every time.

Should be seeing a new Starbucks going up in-between the Wal-Mart and Ace Hardware buildings within the next month or two.
Re: Saddle Creek (Dodge to Hamilton)
Starbucks is taking advantage of how busy that area will be when all the apartments start filling up. Thanks for the info!DAnalyst68135 wrote: ↑Fri May 31, 2019 11:16 am Should be seeing a new Starbucks going up in-between the Wal-Mart and Ace Hardware buildings within the next month or two.

Re: Saddle Creek (Dodge to Hamilton)
Oh, wow.... That is going to look great. I like that Saddle Creek area south of Dodge to Center -- more and more, especially. I used to live right around there. It was great seeing that video and being reminded of the look/feel of Omaha in the summer.
As much as I always use to focus on big office buildings and the skyline, I almost focus more on the city increasing the delight & beauty of street corners, and streetscapes now -- like this. That's what really makes a city, imo, especially a city like Omaha (that is not Chicago, so a new skyscraper doesnt come along everyday). The more delightful and sharp a city is at street level, I feel the more chance a new high rise, or investment, comes a long. That's kinda my theory, I think.

Re: Saddle Creek (Dodge to Hamilton)
The article on the Indian Creek Nursery said the Chipotle that will go in on their old land will have what they call “Chipotlanes”, a drive thru lane you can only use if you order online or by app.

Bank of the West has put signage up, to my knowledge the bank that we read was going in here was never named publicly.
Re: Saddle Creek (Dodge to Hamilton)
If you mean the old Commercial Federal building that is at Dodge and Saddle Creek….hooray for sure. That thing has been an eyesore for two decades.

That is awesome...if I understand you guys correctly they are demolishing it?
Re: Saddle Creek (Dodge to Hamilton)
Pure speculation, but the new bank and the old bank locations are three blocks away from each other...skinzfan23 wrote: ↑Mon May 17, 2021 8:39 am That is awesome...if I understand you guys correctly they are demolishing it?
Re: Saddle Creek (Dodge to Hamilton)
Bank of the West is relocating from its current branch off Farnam and Saddle Creek to the new building to the north. I have to imagine the current building will either be repurposed or demolished. Certainly the old Com Fed building next to CSI will be demolished at some point.Jins123 wrote: ↑Mon May 17, 2021 11:44 amPure speculation, but the new bank and the old bank locations are three blocks away from each other...skinzfan23 wrote: ↑Mon May 17, 2021 8:39 am That is awesome...if I understand you guys correctly they are demolishing it?
