Nice building, hope they can eliminate some of those 70's "improvements"

Arch Icon Development owns it according to DCA.  I have heard that name before, but I don't remember their other projects.

Edit:  I think they were attached to this one that hasn't moved yet. http://eomahaforums.com/phpBB/viewtopic ... maha+lofts

When I moved here (70s) the lower level was an independent pharmacy, complete with a fountain/luncheonette and I think it was like a martial arts studio upstairs.

Both of those are a stretch.

Totally. But, that's marketing; selling ideas and notions that trick people into seeing reality differently.

I'd classify 24th and Farnam as near Creighton.

"Up and coming" is a bit of a stretch, but the new Highline is a block away and they're currently doing a master plan for the area.

The area is certainly going to improve with 194 units set to open in early 2013.  And we are already seeing a ripple effect in a smaller building in the area.  Add in Capitol Rows still being fairly new and I think it is fair to say the area is up and coming, it certainly isn't stagnant.

Nice, my pw worked on the first try after months of not logging in.

$850 isn't too high of a price for as nice as these sound.

This really will be a shot in the arm to this neighborhood, which up until now has seen too many of the other sort of needles in the arm.

I walked by on my way to work today and I look forward to seeing who will be crazy enough to pay 1200 dollars a month for anything in this neighborhood.

My sister is going to be moving into one of these apartments. They're pretty nice looking, 12 units in all.

from the looks of a rendering on the above mentioned site, it would look to be future parking.

A new natural cafe and juice bar plans to open this spring at 24th and Farnam Streets.

The Grove Juicery & Wellness Cafe will make and serve cold pressed juices, vegan milks, smoothies, bowls, granola and specialty teas and coffee. The restaurant is owned by Meghann Schense, who previously worked in the fashion industry.

The building across the street (NW corner of 24th & Farnam) is being torn down this week.

Anyone know what's going in its place? I tried a search but didn't find anything. Building's address is 2406 Farnam.

This is owned by the Hotel next door. I would guess parking but it is only a guess.

The building looked quite dilapidated, so it coming down really isn't surprising. But it becoming a parking lot would be a let down.

Too bad the building couldn't have been saved since it is over 100 years old, but it did look like it was in sad shape.

It looked like the south wall was bowing out bad and ready to collapse.

As of this morning, only a portion of the west wall was still standing. It's probably gone now.
