Solid Jackson Books is moving from Benson with them. The developers of Blackstone have done an awesome job at keeping the mix of retailers unique and local major kudos to them.

And an ice cream store will be going in the brick building to the east (3921 Farnam). I guess the Tap Room is done...

Speaking of Blackstone Improvements... This will be 3907 Farnam (where Ground Floor Guitar is going), a part of Clarity's BD3 projects. They also own 3921 Farnam, where the Ice Cream store will go as well as the two story fourplex building in between (I have to wonder what they might have planned for here). Blackstone Station is also part of the BD3 LLC. Blackstone Station is part of their Blackstone 38-41 LLC Project.

Clarity Development is also involved in the South Hill Rowhouses, 30 Metropolitan, and Blair Commons

Ground Floor Guitar opens mid-April In Omaha’s Blackstone District, 3909 Farnam St. In addition to guitar and accessory inventory, the shop plans to offer instrument and amp repair, as well as a back-lined rehearsal space.

Its Midtown location means it has the potential to serve much of the Omaha music community.

“It’s so exciting to open up a shop like this in the Midtown area,” says general manager Josh Soto, who also plays in indie/soul band High Up. “Our central location will make it easy for both local musicians and touring acts to grab a quick pack of strings or [other supplies].”

Owner Philip Schaffert says the rehearsal room, in addition to being fully furnished, will house a digital mixer into which bands can plug in to record practices or demos. Similar to radio station environment, players will use headphones to monitor each other.

From Dundee Cycles FB Page:
"Dear Dundee Cycles Friends & Customers,
We are proud to announce our new headquarters at 3924 Farnam Street Omaha, Nebraska. As of April 1, 2016 we will focus only on the Dundee Cycles brand and establishing new Dealerships within the United States. Our new headquarters is still in the Blackstone District in Omaha, Nebraska -- with a storefront located between Scriptown Brewing Company and Archetype Coffee. This space will be a showroom floor, custom build studio, and meeting place for future and current owners of our bicycles. A new shop, Ponderosa Cyclery + Tour will move into the current location at 4011 Farnam Street and will continue as a full service local neighborhood bike shop. We are proud and excited about this next chapter and look forward to your continued support. - Christopher Halbkat"

Great before and after pics. Would be even better if they tore off the corragated metal siding and changed the paint color or clean it off to expose the natural brick.

Something tells me it will be a while before they can afford to do that. But I have my fingers crossed.

That bright yellow sign reminds me of the temporary bookstores that go up in empty buildings for a few weeks. It just looks so... temporary. Thank god that yellow wall is gone. That was horrendous.

This link says that the renovations have begun at the Colonial Hotel. Can anyone confirm or deny? Didn't seem like there was any other new information, but a nice summary.

Yes, work has begun on the Colonial! All residents have moved out and the house to the north will be demolished in the coming week or so to make way for site work. Interior discovery has been happening for two months or so to make sure historic information is accurate. Given the permitting timeline currently it may be 6-10 weeks before interior remodeling begins.
