Noticed that too...driving northbound on 72nd just north of Pine. I remember seeing a sign & logo w/ pizza with something like Five Slices or Five Spices? I'll have to drive-by again. A quick search online found nothing with similar names in that location.

Oh! We have something like that concept here in Chicago. It's like a Chipotle or Subway for pizza. And now I'm also hungry... hmm...

Was this on the middle bay? The Pizza place?

Yeah, on the middle bay. It was Pie Five Pizza. According to their website, they are opening in March.

I thought I remembered hearing something about this. Here is the World Herald story from July 2013.

Build-your-own pizza is latest venture for restaurant veteran Simmonds and son
The Simmondses plan locations in Omaha, Lincoln and Council Bluffs for the new-to-Nebraska Pie Five Pizza Co., a fast-casual pizza chain.
So he and Shawn settled on Pie Five Pizza, a build-your-own pizza chain where customers can choose from different options for crust, sauce, toppings and cheese for their pizza, which is prepared by an employee in about five minutes. The first two Omaha stores are expected to open in the next six months, probably within weeks of each other, Simmonds said.

Looks promising. I'll give it a try. That will be great for lunch if you can grab a slice in 5 minutes.

It is a fast-growing chain...already 18 of them in Texas and several more elsewhere. 6 in Nebraska eventually.

When you do get a chance to try it, let us know the price point. When Pacific Life relocates to Aksarben, I may want to give it a try.

I might give it a try soon...Fresh slice of pizza made to order in five minutes or less...for around $7.

Agreed. Pass. Pizza is one of the cheapest things to make. Unless these slices are the size of a mini-pizza, that's ridiculous.

According to the brief mention in the paper, it is a personal-size pizza, not just a slice.

Seems to be right in range with the going rate for lunch now...A Jimmy Johns sandwhich, chips & a drink is over $8 now.. over $7 at Subway...and a Qdoba burrito is in that range too ..$10 with a drink. It's around $6.50 for a #1 at Arby's. Over $6 for a #8 at Taco Bell even. The days of sub-$5 lunches are over...unless you brown bag it.

At least 5 Pie's product appears to be something new to the area. I'll give it a try.

Apples to oranges comparisons (no pun intended). If it's for a personal pizza, I've got no issue with 7 dollars. But 7 dollars for a slice of pizza would be outrageous, and that's without a drink.

Assuming this concept is like what's in chicago, it's a good sized personal pizza.

Yeah, I'm not sure where I got $7 / slice. From the menu it looks like you'll get a whole small pizza. Point is, $7 isn't that bad for a lunch-size serving, especially if it tastes good.

If you're looking for all-you-can-eat, you're better off going to a buffet.

OWH made a story about how close this Starbucks is to the one on Dodge. It was sorely needed IMO. The line in both drive thrus were 5 deep the other day.

I agree they needed another Starbucks. The one near Chipotle is the closest to me but a bear to use the drive thru or just park (ha ha ha) and go in. Now if someone could figure out a way to get into Aksarben Center without requiring U turns to find an entrance. Most ridiculous layout and the reason I NEVER go to Bed Bath and Beyond there.

The parking lots on the SE corner of 72nd and Dodge are awful. On the weekend it's faster to park at Crossroads and walk.

I agree. That strip mall requires about lefts to make a right no matter what direction you come from or leave.

It is amazing how that whole area really took off within the last year or so. For years, the land sat vacant and now it is completely full.
