Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge (Part Two)
Planning under way to expand pedestrian bridge to downtown, TD Ameritrade Park

Omaha officials are working to advance concept and design studies for a potential link from the existing bridge that would extend across nearby railroad tracks and land near a parking lot north of the CenturyLink Center.
Having seen the article on the planned new sculpture in the park on the CB side it occured to me it would be nice if Omaha could also find a way to put a small new sculpture or instalation on their side at the public fountains. The fiber optic installation apparently hasn't been sustainable and with that now gone the space just looks a little empty. It would be nice to see something takes its place, not necessarily anything major, just a practical/modest work of some kind. Â Maybe have a contest or submit bids amongst local artists like with the O's.

I was wondering the same thing. Â Went to Taste of Omaha on Friday and the pylon lights were off and even most of the floodlights lighting the cables were off. Â The only ones on were the floodlights lighting the pylons. Â This is getting ridiculous, they need to get that figured out.
The lights being off have nothing to do with what happened the other night. Â I noticed they were off at the Beach Boys concert, probably because the pylon on the Nebraska side had been malfunctioning for weeks. Â Otherwise I think they turn off the cable lights every night and only run the walkway lights to conserve energy. Â However, I agree they do need to get the pylon lighting corrected considerering it is brand new again. Â That being said, I could not believe how many people were on that thing the night of the Beach Boys, the bridge was actualy congested. Â I don't see how it wouldn't be appropriate to connect it to north downtown and finaly get some consistant foot traffic in and out of there.

Yes, they have show it a lot. Â One time they showed the shot from the ridge looking at the stadium and then faded in to a really tight shot of the bridge from the stadium.
They must have had some sort of boom camera up on the bridge.
They should install a high resolution camera. Â You can never have anything nice, because someone will always come around and ruin it for everyone else.
Many are long-term efforts, with funding spread across several years. The plan includes $250,000, for example, for a north downtown bridge that would connect walkers, runners and bikers to the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge. An additional $1.7 million is earmarked for the project in 2015 and a similar amount in 2016.
There was just a story about this on the news... Â What a bunch of low life, worthless sacks of |expletive|. Â They ripped the No Parking sign out of the ground and started ramming it in to the machine. Â They also busted out several of the windows in the bus stop.
The owner is ready to pull it out because its been damaged 3 times now, which totals $10,000+
There is no place in this world for worthless assholes like this.
