Warren Distribution, 13th and Leavenworth

Post by ShawJ »

I noticed a few weeks ago that the Warren Distribution sign had been taken off the building at 13th and Leavenworth. That same day I overheard someone talking about how they would want to develop that site.

Does anyone know if they're moving out, or are they doing something minor (i.e. changing the sign)? The Douglas County Assessor site still says it's owned by Warren Oil Inc.

Its been mentioned on here before, and it was mentioned again this weekend in the OWH, but Warren Distribution is moving to the postal Annex. Between this lot and the Creighton Clinic closing across the intersection, this area could be ripe for several new businesses and hopefully a new development on the Warren lot.

Warren Distribution’s former downtown headquarters is becoming green space for now

Cindy Gonzalez / World-Herald staff writer wrote:The former downtown Omaha headquarters of Warren Distribution is being demolished, and the company has no plan yet to redevelop the site at 727 S. 13th St., Senior Vice President Jim Douglas said.

Tons of potential here. Hopefully Warren is active in finding a developer or selling to one rather than sitting on it or paving it.

I also wish the cinder block building on the next block north would be torn down too. It looks terrible with all the windows boarded up and awnings falling apart.

Wow. I wonder what they use it for. It would be great if they could at least paint a mural on it or something.

Does anyone know if they are keeping the parking lot intact? Iirc they own that entire surface lot just north of their property.

Looks like they are using it as a community garden for now.
