Just the first bay on the corner? I think the one to the east of that is vacant, too, right?
The construction fence covers both bays.

As I live a few blocks away from this area and I walk by this building often, it’s great to see these bays redeveloped. I am not too hopeful, but it would be nice to see a unique look to the front of the building since it’s on the strip.

Health clinic for teens and young adults to join Benson's eclectic corridor
Cindy Gonzalez
A former thrift store along Benson's main commercial strip is being transformed into a health care clinic for teens and young adults.

Charles Drew Health Center Inc. chose the 5920 Maple St. site to better reach that area's growing target population, said the network's chief executive officer Kenny McMorris.

He noted that the 6,000-square-foot property is near Benson High School and a middle school. Expected to open this summer, the clinic will offer comprehensive physical, mental and behavioral health care and cater to people 15 to 24 years old.

I was in Omaha a couple of weeks ago, and I was quite surprised that on a Tuesday night, Benson was hopping. Google said that many places were closed, but there were a lot more people than I expected going into bars and restaurants. Also, I visited Austin, TX for the first time, and judging solely on the vibe of the neighborhoods Austin has nothing on Benson except size.

A few new updates I saw on the main strip.

New tattoo shop right by YoSh|tomo

YoSh|tomo has bought the building next to it and creating a gallery's, for more seating and omakase's. Also owner is opening a new sushi resturant in the area I have heard.

The Sam's building has been cleared out and sold, not sure what used to go on in there but it was suspect to say the least.

The old coffee shot right next to ted and wally's has been rented by a delta 8/cbd store.

Love seeing new developments in this district I love so much!

Looks like the old Janes Health food Bar was recently purchased and is set to become another axe throwing bar.
Baked After Dark bakery will have to leave that location and are currently looking to move to the former B side theater in benson but nothing is official yet.

Very interesting. Super glad Jane's Market is being put to use, I was curious what it could be ever since I saw the sold sign in the window. Not what I was expecting lol but I'm here for it!

I am kinda surprised baked after dark will need to move, but their location was not great IMO.

Talked to Baked after Dark and turns out the funding fell through for the Axe throwing which sucks. New owner of Jane's and cookie shop will let BAD stay, and building is still open for rent from what I understand.

Benson bakery closes its doors

Baked After Dark has been a great place to grab a sweet treat in the Benson area. For five years, owner Stacey Johnson has perfected cookie baking. “It’s been a labor of love,” Johnson said. “We really built it from the ground up.” Lately, however, the ingredients she used to make her cookies are harder to come by, and it’s costing Johnson more to purchase what she needs to keep the business going.

It is bare wood. Windows on East side have filled in what looks like new oriented strand board. So what is next?
